When I looked at the SD.com home page just now, Slug’s cartoon is up for the longbow question, but the featured column is about Molson Canadian. Clicking on the cartoon brings up this week’s fresh column.
I’ve noticed before the cartoon for the week’s new column is updated as early as Thursday night, and that clicking on it gets a sneak peak.
Why do you do it this way?
The system previews the new column, which usually is made active on Thursday night so people receiving the advance Straight Dope mailing can read the entire column after they see the taste in the email. This goes out in the middle of the night, Central Time.
I assume that is why management set things up this way.
Usually I have the column changed out in the morning but there are occasionally times when I need to wait for editorial changes or other problems. This was one of those days. The front page is updated now.
