I’m not wanting to Pit anyone here…though IMHO several folks in the thread deserve it…but only wanted to thank the MEBuckner who FINALLY put us out of our misery and closed the stupid $2.00 Gas Coming? thread. The thread had basically degenerated into a bunch of name calling (guilty as charged here as I felt several of the conspircy side were a bunch of flaming idiots) for the last several pages…with the occational drive by link from our good friend gonzomax.
At any rate, I again just wanted to say Thank YOU! to MEBuckner for finally closing the train wreck!
Actually, I was kind of enjoying it, in the same way that I enjoyed the Black Knight scene in Monty Python and the Holy Grail. I kept waiting for gonzomax to say, “It’s only a flesh wound!”
As an active participant in that thread, I was using it to get my daily dose of gonzo. His unique (to put it nicely) use (or misuse) of the English language, blatant disregard for all rules of spelling and grammar, and completely irrelevant links (apparently he is unaware of the difference between gasoline and natural gas) always gave me a kick. I could always count on finding him there and adding a little joy to my life. Now where will I find him?
Well you could invite him over into this thread if you are missing him that badly. l always figured he was some sort of Rik from the Young Ones or Citizen Smith sort of guy, quoting random snippets of dogma he had heard somewhere, with no real understanding of what he was saying.
Mind you , some of those links were quite a hoot to read, and it was always fun to click on them whilst wondering ‘what on earth has he found to link to now?’

Oh, never fear…he’s about. And since he never varies (afaik) his writing style, you can still get your does in any thread he wanders into. I did a pit thread on him a year ago (I think)…and he hasn’t changed a bit.
My thought exactly! Sometimes I’d actually try and puzzle out what obscure point he was attempting to make. In the end I figured he was simply posting links either at random or that popped up in some wierd Google search that he hadn’t bothered to read at all.
BTW, just wanted to say to both Renob and NaturalBlondChap (since you both wandered in here) that, IMHO anyway, you guys did a good job in carrying the water in that thread, especially in the early parts of the thread (when meaningful stuff was still being discussed…well, by SOME anyway ). You guys did a great job…IMHO, FWIW anyway.
I wasn’t participating much in that thread by the time it got closed, but I was following the action, and it was clear that there were accusations of trollery by some of the posters. It was good that Mod caught it and closed the thread.
