**sari **- from your posts, I don’t think your mother is ever happy no matter what you do - you should just join us! You know you want to!!!
Still waiting for the boss. No more piddly things I can be doing.

Blurf.
That is all.
Oh, wait…
Nope, that’s all of it.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up, caffeinated, purtified and actually at irk. ‘Tis 71 out and rainy with a predicted high of 82 with rain/tstorms/apocalypse for the day. I had modem trouble last night and this mornin’ but all is well now. YAY!
My husband’s weekday alarm goes off 5 minutes before mine (reasons unknown). Today I foggily thought, “that’s funny, why would he set an alarm to remember to go to the bathroom?” :smack: I thought it was Saturday. Then my alarm went off, and the truth dawned on me.
Today high in the low 60’s and rain probably. I dance the happy dance.
Dog to the vet today. His skin infection is back. Dog 2 will likely have to go soon. She has stopped eating anything hard. I think she’s cracked a tooth.
Off to poke girl child to get dressed for school.
Happy Firday.
True, I think my mother is never happy unless she has something to bitch about.
I’m never happy when I have to go there, but for whatever reason I still feel obligated.
I still get calls now and then from a car dealership I wrenched for asking if I would like to return. I only worked there for 4 months back in 1979. Boy - I must have made quite an impression!
Dinner/lunch was leftover stuffed peppers with some garlic hot-sauce. It came out really good.
I published a new music arrangement yesterday and it’s sold 3 copies so far. I guess there are a lot of 2-clarinet groups out there wanting to play “Bohemian Rhapsody.”
Going to a show tonight.
I think of Calvin and Hobbes whenever I think of stuffed peppers. One of my favorite comics was when Calvin complained that his mother’s cooking stank, and he wouldn’t eat it no matter what it was. She told it was stewed monkey heads and he got all excited. When he chowed down at dinner and was saying the brains tasted good his mom face palmed when his dad said* “I thought we were having stuffed peppers. I’m not eating this.”

WAKE UP, MUMPERS!!!
Okay. That’s it. Back to sleep, all.
Been awake for several hours, just didn’t have much to say.
I’m having a screwed up day.
I want to do things around the house, especially since it is such a pretty day. However, irk keeps sending emails offering a bonus if we log in extra hours outside our normal shift and I hate to turn down money.
It’s stressing me out though.
Thanks to everyone for the birthday wishes. I had a nice evening with a lovely dinner and pretty bouquets from both my husband and son.
I am jealous of those attending the FCM shindig. I wish I could go. FCM is a lovely person and I will never forget her driving all the way to and from DC to pick me up and go to dinner with me all those years ago.
My ankle is freakin’ killin’ me. I rolled it but good when my back spasmed last Sunday and I fell down. Although I did not expect to be 100 percent healed by now, I was hoping the swelling and pain would dissipate a little by now. If there isn’t any improvement by Monday, I’ll have to go see the doc and make sure I didn’t fracture or tear something. My foot is turning awful shades of black, green and purple.
The good news is that today is Friday. It’s been a long week.
Thanks for the testimonial. The check is in the mail…
Whew, it sure got busy after I left the office. I stopped at WalMart, Aldi’s, and Food Lion to get party stuff and some regular grocery stuff. Then **FCD **and I went to lunch at the place where we usually get breakfast. Downtown Leonardtown was crowded! I had to drop him off then park a block away!!
After lunch, we went to Friendly Hall Farms for some strawberries ($5 per quart this year!!! ) then came home. I’ve got the ribs in the smoker, the pineapple upside-down cake and the brownies in the oven, and a pan of boiled eggs cooling down so’s I can peel 'em and devil 'em. I mixed up your basic onion dip using onion soup, and it’s in the fridge flavor-melding. I still need to make a cuke salad, and I think I’ll start cleaning the strawberries. Some will be for tomorrow, and the rest will become jam on Sunday.
Tomorrow, I’ll make up the veggie tray, run the vacuum, and hide some of the clutter. I’ll need to run to get the slaw and some ice. The ribs will come out of the fridge and go into the oven around noon to be slowly brought up to temp. The chicken will go into the rotisserie about 1:30 or so. And when folks start showing up, I’ll out out the chips and trail mix and munchies.
Man, I’m exhausted just thinking about it!!!
I slept through dog 1’s vet appt. I am an idiot. Dog 2 will eat other food, so she is just tired of that food, which is fair. Daughter never seals the bag. It must taste like stale socks by now.
I am therefore having a somewhat blah, shading to bad day. I am hoping this coffee helps. I hate sleeping through things!
Howdy Y’all! I met OYKW at Golden Corral a little after three and we chowed down. It was a late N.O.L./early dindin for both of us. Then I went to Sam’s to gas up while OYKW came on to da cave. Now we are both in da cave on a dreary Firday evenin’. Life is good.
Ugh… My house is a mess, lot of boxes were delivered today.
Swampy, you will be pleased to know I just received 54 rolls of toilet paper.
The dog has food, the cat got a small tree, Sah-son got a gallon of hand soap and a new hat.
I surprised him with this one, I picked it out out myself.

I’m going to make some hamburgers for dinner.
I went out to breakfast with my mother this morning. Today is her 84th birthday! I’m so glad she’s still with us, after the health crisis of last year. Her hair is starting to thicken back up, although it’s always grown slowly and is still short.
My car is on life support and I expect the plug will be pulled soon. I hope I can get something form the idiot who ran into it, but I’m doubtful there. I liked that car, it’s the last one my dad ever helped me select. Now, for the first time, I’ll have to find a car for myself. I’ve always paid for them, but it’s dad who knew where to get a good deal.
It’s stopped raining so I’m going to take Nathan out for a walk.
Mooommmm That cake looked so good. Makes me want to go crazy and show up but nah. Too expensive. If’n money were no object I would be there. Will there be funny hats?
At irk til 6pm. I left early the other day to get my hair did or done. I had my gray’s covered and got a summer cut. Feels better anyway. Noticed that it is two different colors but what the heck. The colorist leaves the dye on the top longer than the rest of it and it usually matches. This time I am darker on top and lighter on the other. no biggie. Except to make up the hours I am staying late today. Tis Steak night.
TGIF. Tis been a long week. I ordered me some new tires since the originals have 40K miles and one of them has been plugged. We have a Auto Hobby shop at irk and the manager got me a deal (I guess) on some top of the line Cooper CRS 80K mile tires. I insisted I wanted American made tires and the local Goodyear place quoted me $767.50 out the door on some Goodyear’s. The Cooper’s mounted, balanced and installed will cost total of 550. That will be happening on Tuesday or Wed. I need good tires as I drive on a dangerous highway with lots of crazy people and usually my baby is with me. Don't want to die by being cheap. Everyone should go to Amazon and search for RESQME. It comes in a two pack for about 8. It is a tool to shatter your car window and cut the seatbelt if’n you drive into a body of water. I cross many bridges everyday and there are the aforementioned crazy people and drunks on the road. I also bought it in case I see a child or animal in a hot vehicle. I won’t hesitate to break the window and the state of FL just made it legal to do so.
I am so sleepy. Why am I always so sleepy this time of day. I need coffee. I think I will make an iced coffee with the leftover morning coffee.
I’m in the finals! Please vote for me, and tell your friends, too!
Lessee - cake and brownies are baked. Ribs come out of the smoker in about 40 minutes. Eggs are boiled and awaiting deviling. Cuke salad is made. Onion dip is mixed and mellowing. Four quarts of strawberries have been cleaned and prepped for noshing and/or jammin’. Tomorrow I need to pick up the slaw and get a couple of bags of ice. I’ll jazz up the beans and get them simmering, build the veggie and fruit trays, run the vacuum, and generally get things set up. I need to ask my sis to bring coasters - I don’t have enough! OH NOES!!!
I’m beat! Hope I can stay awake for the festivities!!
