We had voting problems in the city with long waits and people having serious problems registering. Polls closing with long lines yet to get through. I heard that most of the people were allowed to stay in line until they got to vote but no newcomers could get in line after the polls closed.
Short on ballots, machines not working, people dicking around, etc. It could take quite some time before they figure out Milwaukee. Shit. I hate waiting this long.
They still say it’s pretty much up to OHIO…
What’s going on in Dona Ana County? The county is about 50% Hispanic, Las Cruces is a college town, and there’s a good community of artists, new-agers, and other liberal types. It seems to be swinging Bush, though.
Well, that’d be cooler than this “President to the House, Vice-President to the Senate” idea.
Florida has a HUGE number of uncounted absentee ballots from Miami-Dade Co. Until they are counted, nobody is calling anything, which may mean tomorrow or Thursday.
They’re saying Bush is gonna take Fla AND Ohio as per Tom Brokaw
A tie IS a Bush win. It would then be up to Congress, which is Republican-dominated, so they’d elect Bush.
I have nothing of substance to add to this thread. I just wanted to record my presence for posterity.
It does, however, look very good for Bush. The NAACP just filed a lawsuit in Florida so you know that Kerry’s camp is getting desperate. Ohio is still very open and it may take a while for Florida to go to Bush. Bush should be optimisitc though but there is a long way to go.
Hmmm, by my count & the C-SPAN map: if everything goes as leaning, Bush gets 271 electoral votes. Alaska&Hawaii have no results yet (last election Bush got Alaska’s 3).
According to CNN,com, less than 10% of the Milwaukee vote has been reported so far, with Kerry only holding a 1,000 vote lead there. Clearly, a whole buncha Kerry votes remain uncounted so far.
Well, I’m calling it for Bush. (I’m running a tally on my room’s door’s whiteboard.)
Come to think of it, no. I wondered why I was noticing this and nobody else was
Watchu mean. Only 9 percent in with a 500 vote lead.
Exit polls have Bush winning the Milwaukee area by 63%. If I read that right.
70% Dane counted, 40% Milwaukee, 0% Outagamie - not good news for Kerry
I know you are probably right but hey…what can I say?
USA Today had 37% Milwaukee counted and the totals were almost split 50/50
ABC just projected Florida for Bush.
Hey, thanks a lot guys.
Two aristocratic ivy-league sons of wealth and privilege enter, one aristocratic son of ivy-league wealth and privilege leaves!
Ah, here we go, CNN just updated Milwaukee. Kerry 150,000 - Bush 72,000.
