Basically. If Bush takes Ohio, Bush wins.
I stand by what I said a couple hours ago. 197 called by CNN for Bush plus 25 (AZ, CO, AK, MT) = 222. Plus FL = 249. Bush gets Ohio, it’s over.
On the other hand, Kerry is doing well in WI, IA and MN. If Kerry picks up Ohio, and these 3, he should win.
Florida is gone, guys. Let go. We can win without it.
“Dogs and cats living together, MASS HYSTERIA!”
sorry, someone had to say it
A Wisconsin loss would be devastating to Kerry. Ohio is still too close to call though I can’t see Michigan going for Bush.

There’s what, 160,000 absentee ballots or something? Bush is over 300,000 votes ahead. Even if those absentee ballots break 100% for Kerry, he can’t make up the gap.
They just reported on CNN that the precincts left to report in Florida are equally Republican and Democrat.
The only reason the networks aren’t calling Florida is because they got burned big time in 2000, and they are erring way on the side of caution.
Ghostbuters?
Susan Estrich is sort of nuts. Am I missing something here or is she really that crazy? Ohio is just up in the air. Has the Madison area come in yet for Wisconsin because that will be heavilly Kerry.
Oops, getting late - misread chart, instead of % reporting thats precincts reporting

Yeah I know…anybody know where them other Bush brothers are at?
As much as I hate to say it, it looks like Bush has got it locked up.
That’s the game.
It’s gonna be a sad four years. Let’s really come out swinging next time.
It’s all coming down to Ohio. A hour ago, it was still possible for Bush to pick up the last 20 votes he needs without it, but I’m not seeing it now. Even if he takes NH, NM and NV, that’s only 14. I’m not buying the argument that Hawai’i is in play, but even if I’m wrong, that’s only another 4.

Sooo sleeepy…
Please! Just elect one of these clowns so I can go to bed!
It’s not locked up at all. Still very, very open so I wouldn’t be that pessimistic.
Zogby predicted a 98 point electoral college spread in favor of Kerry.
Zobgy predicted Kerry would win Florida. Doesn’t look good. In fact they just called it for Bush. Reduces it to a 44 point spread. We aren’t going to know about Ohio for awhile. Worst case scenario in a binary system, which we’ve effectively got, is that Bush carries Ohio which reduces it to a 4 point spread.
To pull it off without either Ohio or Florida, Kerry needs (among the ones he isn’t assured of): Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, New Hampshire (still not called!), New Mexico, and Wisconsin.
Wisconsin in that list would have had me very worried but I just checked and Kerry is doing OK. Nevada is more up for grabs than polls indicated, too, making it a Kerry possibility, although I’d be surprised if Nevada goes Kerry while NM goes Bush.
In short, it’s reasonably up for grabs that Kerry could pull it out without Ohio, and it’s reasonably up for grabs that Kerry could take Ohio.
Tell the proverbial fat lady to go catch a cup of coffee. I’m nervous and worried but what else is new?
I just cracked open a new bottle of Cuervo Tradicional (the good stuff). Anybody want a glass? I’m about ready to fill mine again. C’mon Ohio, come to Kerry.
Oh, fuck this! I got enough grey hair… I’m gonna turn off the TV and play EverQuest for a couple hours.
Be back later.
I think Bush will take one of those states though. Perhaps Iowa which would throw the eletion Bush’s way.
I’m going to bed. I feel like the only good thing I can be sure about for tomorrow is that there will be no more politcal ads.
I wonder if it’s an excused absence if I don’t go to class tomorrow, either out of curiosity or depression over a Bush win.
My optimisim’s fading.
