Maybe so, but Jennings and Stepenopolis sp don’t really say Bush have won yet either.
Yes. It doesn’t do much good to be noble and powerless.
Things seem to be getting closer in Wisconsin. If Bush wins there and in NV,NM & Iowa then it is all moot.
According to census.gov, the estimated population is 11,500,000. So far (as of this moment), 5,313,457 ballots have been cast in Ohio. The Washington Post says there are 7,800,000 registered voters in Ohio.
If we assume a 75% voter turnout in Ohio (Minnesota apparently had over 80%), then 5,850,000 people voted. So 536,543 votes could be out there, if there’s a 75% turnout. Turnout could be higher or lower, but I don’t think we can discredit at this point that there aren’t enough out there to make a difference.
Give it up already!
Kerry has been declared the winner in Minnesota with +100K votes and only 78% reporting, in Michigan with +90K votes and also only 78% reporting.
Bush is over +120K votes ahead in Ohio with 97% reporting!
It is over. Either IA or NM (or both) will give him the win (thank Christ, or Satan, or whoever…)
all data from USA Today
Brokaw is shilling for Kerry at the moment. Good times.
…and that’s the Washington Times, not the Post. Mea culpa.
I hope that I’m not repeating someone else. That’s the danger of not reading everything in the thread.
The provisional votes and absentee votes (in Ohio at least) won’t be counted for ten or eleven days. I don’t think I can go without sleep that long. But it’s going to make for one hell of a thread.
Why don’t you go quack in another thread.
Is this going to be another deal for liberals like not admitting Alger Hiss was a spy, no matter how much evidence piles up?
NBC calls Ohio. It’s over. You would need more than 75% to go Kerry and that doesn not appear likely.
So they say the pop of Ohio is 12 mil. and the “lead” is maybe 120K NOT counting the absentee…
So less than 1% of the vote is what we’re declaring is a victory. Well, maybe but we’re gonna have to wait awhile yet, wouldn’t ya say?
Yeah…I’m a bit hardheaded…hopefully I’m not alone?
NBC called Ohio almost two hours ago. That’s not the issue.
Cite? I’m watching NBC now, and NBC hasn’t called Ohio on the air.
This has been fun. See you guys tomorrow.
Or those liberals refusing to admit we never made mistakes? Yeah, that sure pisses me off!
And that’s assuming that all of the provissional votes are valid.
Yes, ok, I think we all know that you have a very pessimistic outlook on Kerry pulling off a victory. However, the law is the law, and Ohio law does provide for counting the provisional ballots, given the margin, at this point.
Every vote does count.
Kerry’s only chance is to hold Wisconsin and pull a rabbit out of the hat in Ohio. Stranger things have happened, but I’m not holding my breath. Good night all. Thanks for the (mostly) civil discourse.
Yes but at some point you have to accept that it is a huge longshot. Can’t see it happening as the margin is too large.
