Big whoop. Has any state flipped from where it was in 2000 yet?
Not according to the CNN map.
shhhh. I’m being optimistic.
Lno, I really must come up to Minnesota in four years and watch returns with you whilst we eat pork and drink scotch whisky. Sounds like a brilliant way to spend the evening. I’ve been drinking a nice 2000 Kendall Jackson Cab-Merlot. It just seemed more presidential, plus I must drive soon. Damn Chris Matthews and his “Too close to calls!”
Based on what is known, what is the thinking? Kerry or Bush?
BLANK that post took me so long to do, because I waited for John Snow to show up again, that no one is talking about the blanking graphics any more. Has someone lost yet?
Given the last two presidencies, I think cocaine and hookers would be the most “presidential” route.
Better slow down and taste the stuff. Otherwise you’ll be tasting charcoal! :wally
I truly hope he’s either drinking airplane bottles, or he started drinking around 6AM. Otherwise, he either has a 17-pound liver of Godly Power or he’s posting from an alcohol coma.
Yea! Rep Phil Crane (R, Drunk, Old, Fat, 35-year in office fossil) is losing in Illinois 8th District. They’re saying that the Democrat (Melissa Bean) is winning in some suburban Chicago Repub precincts that are going for Bush.
Welp, based on what I’ve seen so far, among the “white” states on the map as I write this, I’m calling it as follows:
Bush: FLA, ARK, MO
Kerry: NH, OH, PA, NH
Criteria: No of Dems vs Reps going for their own party, gender gap, and how independents are voting in the state in question.
Source: CNN’s Main Election Page, which seems to be the best of the bunch.
No. Basically its going exactly as predicted so far. Florida and Ohio are still up in the air from everything I’ve seen…but Florida SEEMS to be going Bush to me. Ohio is definitely still up for grabs…cnn only has them reporting 4% right now. However, Bush is up there atm as well (though with 4% of the vote I don’t think you could make any call at all).
I think people are getting giddy here and I’m really not seeing any cause for that yet. I think the exit polls being used in some places have all the accuracy of goat entrails this election…least thats my take on it so far. I’ve seen exit polls showing Bush losing in Virgina, but looks pretty clear from the raw data Bush is going to take Virgina…easily. Same with several other states.
I’m still predicting a narrow Kerry win…but its definitely still up in the air at this point.
Now, I have some serious drinking to get back too. I’ll check back in when I’ve opened the 2nd bottle of 15 year old scotch…

Bush has now snagged one of Maine’s electoral votes, I see.
I’m slightly concerned by the long queues of voters still waiting in PA, OH and FL after the polls have officially closed; estimated waiting times are up to five hours in some areas. I’m more concerned by the reports that the Republicans in some of those areas are legally challenging attempts to bring in more voting machines to speed up queueing. Let people vote, dammit!
CNN.com just gave the heartland (ND, SD, WY, NE, KS, OK, TX) to Bush. Not that this is surprising or anything, but it kinda spooked me when I saw it before I realized what it was.
–p
Unknown. Barring a surprise in some state thought safe, it all depends on FL, OH and PA.
New Hampshire will be the first.
And according to the Senate results from NC, things are not looking good for Erskine Bowles. Damn.
Most likely. I’m surprised it hasn’t been called yet.
Bush is now leading by 3% in Ohio. Up 7 points in Florida, but the two large, democratic leaning districts have yet to weigh in.
Looks like it’s going to be a squeaker.
Iron liver of godly power it is, and five minutes of backspacing to edit out all egregious typos so five years from now I can look back and tell myself I wasn’t this drunk.
Blank that blanking blank.
Shibb, you’re welcome up here at any time, except tonight it’s a nice homemade chicken curry (thanks to Elenfair) and the multiple half-empty bottles of scotch whisky. Gotta clear up space in the cabinet in case Bricker loses and I get a nice Islay malt in exchange.
Blanking blanking blank blank blank.
