So, in 2006, let’s say the democrats win EVERY SINGLE senate race up for election. That would give them 60 seats. That leaves them 7 votes short on a straight party-line vote for conviction.

I was very disappointed by Dean’s performance on the Daily Show. Stewart was a sympathetic host and Dean was in front of a sympathetic crowd, but all Dean could say when Stewart asked him for a specific agenda was to repeat over and over how bad Republicans are. Stewart was pressing him, but Dean had nothing. Bashing the Republican’s agenda should be part of the Democratic strategy, but it won’t get them elected unless they have something to put in its place.
Did anyone see Dean on Hardball last week? He was very, very good. And Chris was trying especially hard to trap him into saying something stupid. There might be hope for him yet.
As for the OP, well, what can one say about a screed like that in GD? The earth is doomed unless the Democrats win. Someone better keep aleric away from the campaign phones…
