Now Dr. Horrible is here...

to make you quake with fear…

Well, the DVD isn’t here, exactly, but can be preordered:

Here’s a multipage, spoilerific thread filled with spoilers:
http://drhorrible.com/

Now that the DVD is (almost) available, this thread hear could be used for discussion with no unboxed spoilers.

Does this have anything to do with the song that starts out ‘Doctor Horrible, Doctor Horrible, [something something] Doctor Horrible’?

It was good, but it wasn’t buy the DVD good.

You’re thinking of [Someone Keeps Moving My Chair Lyrics by They Might Be Giants](Someone Keeps Moving My Chair) by They Might Be Giants.

“Dr. Horrible” is a three-part Web series created by Joss Whedon, depicting the rise and/or fall of a would-be supervillain played by Neil Patrick Harris.

It starts off looking like it might be just another low-budget YouTube comic spoof, and in fact the actual budget is probably less than a typical one-hour TV drama (although still far more than most YouTubers are able to spend, and that’s without the ability to call in favors from professional cast and crew members). But the dialogue, music, and acting are all top-notch. By the end I actually found myself caring what happened to Dr. Horrible, against all expectations.

(Again, I’d like to keep this thread free of unboxed spoilers. The previous thread contains much more detail.)

PS: I do know how to spell “here” correctly, I just don’t always do so.

I HAVE that on my iPod/iTunes/CD!!!

To be honest, I wouldn’t buy it for myself either, but I have a friend who lurvs Joss Whedon and Neil Patrick Harris (and to whom I really owe a gift this Christmas). As a bonus, I’m supporting what I would like to become a new model for producing and distributing original entertainment. Finally, I’m sure my friend will allow me to watch the special DVD features that aren’t available on the Web site.

ETA: So maybe I am buying it for myself after all, but don’t tell my friend that.

Huh. Maybe I really was the last person to get on that bandwagon. Oh, well. I just noticed the price of the DVD has gone down to $10 (cheap!), and there are a couple of different ways to get free shipping.
