I urge the NRA to elect Ted Nugent as their president for he will attract a great deal of awareness and support for the organization from the more youthful and rock-n-roll oriented segment of society that would otherwise find a political lobbying organization to be boring. Beyond that, Mr. Nugent will give whole organization a shot in the arm with an outspoken vitality that will keep the NRA’s message front and center before lawmakers and the political culture.

(Yeah, that’s the ticket…;))

I don’t know how “youthful” his audience is anymore. He’s 60 years old. Most of his fans are nearing retirement age.

I’m a life member of the NRA and I’ve been a 2A activist for decades.

I wouldn’t piss on Ted Nugent if he was on fire.

Seriously, as an NRA Life Member and ardent SA supporter, I couldn’t support Ted as NRA prez, just because he would polarize the members. Although he’s got a lot of good stuff to say, some of it is just interpreted as “wacky”.

Now, someone who has a stage presence/name recognition (albeit not as illustrious as Mr. Heston) and is committed would be someone like Tom Selleck.

Selleck wouldn’t be a bad choice at all to have as the face of the NRA. He’s well-spoken and he has class.

I seriously think Nugent should run for Prez of the entire country - maybe on the Libertarian ticket. Palin can get the Republican nomination in four years and it will be worst than Goldwater in 64. I will even give them both $1.48 in contributions if it helps. Thats total - not each.
