Nudist Attacked by Alligator!!!

This just in.

A woman staying at a nudist resort in Land O’ Lakes, Florida was attacked by an alligator while swimming.

She was pulled away from the gator by her (presumably also-nude) husband.

Oh, the mental images.

(I know, I know, it’s a terrible thing that the woman was injured, but it’s still hard to ignore the comic elements of the story.)

Um, spoke-, as hard as I try, I can find no comic elements in this one at all.

Someone playing cymbals or the accordian in an all-nude band is funny (and probably pretty darned careful, too).
The world’s first all-nude funeral/memorial service is amusing (happened at Cypress Cove, down the street from my house).
Nude woman pulled away from an alligator is not funny.

I’ve heard this on the local news - they did not report whether she was a Floridian or an out-of-state tourist. Most Floridians know enough to stay away from the lakes (snakes and alligators, especially since we’ve had a drought and it’s gator breeding season - mommagator gets pretty ornery protecting her eggs and little ones. Of the people I’ve spoken to at the local nudist resort, most no longer swim in the lake because of the alligators: everyone pretty much uses the pool.

Sorry, I just can’t see any humor in this one.

I often like crocodilians better than I like people, so there is a certain amusement value here: Woman swims in alligator’s home territory, gracious alligator welcomes her to the food chain. However, the nudity doesn’t add much in the way of humor to the story. It’s not as if swim trunks would have prevented the attack.

Random quote from croc handler: “Most people who are attacked by crocodiles are under the mistaken impression that alcohol will save them.”

I just hope that they don’t go and kill the alligator. They usually do, which I find annoying.

So do I Sengkelat. There was a two year old little girl here in Florida the other day that was attacked and killed by an alligator. She wandered off from her house to the nearby lake. Tragic. They caught the gator and killed it.

IMHO I think they should have done that to the wasteless parent who was not paying the child any attention and allowed her to wander off fully knowing the neighborhood had a lake that may or may not contain gators. The alligator was just doing what comes naturally to him.

The parent’s excuse? “I was on the phone.”
