Nutella. What is it good for/on?

Oslo Ostragoth– Did you try this recipe? I made it once and it came out pretty good.

Even IHOP (hardly a bastion of adventurous foods) sells Nutella-filled crepes. They’re pretty good, though I imagine they’d be even better if I got some proper, home made crepes.

You have quite the special relationship with your grandson.

Oh of course, and crepes are really easy to make. They just need a few common cheap ingredients and a nice hot pan. Nutella + Strawberry + Whipped cream might be my favorite type of crepe (though lemon juice + sugar + cocoa powder is in the running, too)

I do the laundry.

What’s all this talk of pancakes? Nutella is far better on waffles…

Is Nutella really that rare in the States? I keep tripping over it in grocery stores in Ontario and Quebec, as opposed to, say, vegimite/marmite.

It is good in crepes. Crepes with bananas and chantilly cream.

Oh, it melted, but it “hardens” once it cools on the plate–and my pancakes were too fluffy to wipe it up. I wanted MORE chocolatey goodness, dammit!

No. The nearest city to me has only about 3,700 residents, and it has Nutella at it’s supermarket. (Granted, the city abuts the Canadian border.) I went to the new market in this unincorporated area south of there, and got Nutella today. I had no trouble getting it when I lived in L.A. either. And as I mentioned, you can get Nutella pastries from bakeries in Seattle.

Spam?

My brother works in a grocery store that has its own “house” (meaning cheap) brands, including baked goods. He bought a bag of the house brand of dinner rolls once…just once. He had some for lunch, put the buns in a drawer, and forgot about them. A month later he found the buns and they were disturbingly perfect. Fresh, springy, and no mold. He went to the bakery (they made these in-store) and asked one of the bakers what was in the buns. She didn’t want to tell him. Suffice it to say that if even mold can’t grow on those things, there sure isn’t much for nutrients in there.

Every time I see those buns or bread I get goosebumps. It ain’t right.

Sorry for the hijack. As you were.

Nutella gelato is heaven!

Looks good. This is the disaster. The 1 3/4 hour baking time is obviously wrong, but I never got ahold of the poster to ask about it.

Spread Nutella on a couple slices of bread, make a sandwich with sliced strawberries, and press it with a panini press or George Forman grill.

Joy!

I rarely bake, but ISTR that cakes usually take about a half-hour.

It’s similar to your own Reese’s Cup. Mmmmm.

White bread with fried Spam and sliced Velveeta, check. White bread slathered with Nutella, check. Spam and Nutella together, not so much.

Well, I had it on a toasted chocolate chip bagel this AM.

That was pleasant!

Crumpets and Nutella

Slather the chocolatey hazelnut cream on the bubbly/holey side and let it… melt… in.

You’re welcome, and I am sorry.

I was about to answer “nipples”.
