The head of my lab has gone to Japan! I can definitely get out of work early enough - count me in.
I think someone should teach ** Biggirl ** enough Yiddish or Hebrew to order. Should making for some INTERESTING looks…
Hey, shouldn’t she be changing her name soon anyway? What where you down, 52 pounds last I saw you?
I’m sorry to inform you all that Green Bean, Overengineerand the Bean Sprout will not be able to attend.
She’s asked me to inform you that she’s crying into her wonton soup about this. (I didn’t suggest to her that this was a cross-cultural cuisine problem, though if she were at one of the Kosher Chinese restaurants on my block, she’d be OK).
I’m afraid it looks like my wife is out as well. I, however, still plan on attending.

Last minute change of plans, and I don’t think I can make it after all. But, if any dopers want to hang out Tuesday at all I’d be up for that. Other than tonight I have no plans here in the city until Wednesday.
Bumpity bump - see you all tonight. Will miss Mrs. Zev, Eonwe, and the OverengiGreens, but we welcome GilaB and hope for BigGirl.
Others welcome, too!
So did you guys have a good time?
Hope you weren’t forced to change venue due to a pvt. party.
Did everyone stay sober, or was the Manischewitz flowing?
John,
The party was here. Wish you were great!
Party was great. Everyone (it seemed to me) had a great time.
Imagine my surprise, however, when I walk in the door from the Dopefest to find two Hatzoloh (a private volunteer ambulance service) members in my house, with Chaim (my seven-year old son) with bandages around his forehead. He hit his head against a radiator and got a nice half inch laceration on the back of his head.
End of story: the kid’s fine, four staples to close the wound, and half the night spent in the emergency room.

Darnit, another NYC Doper happening and I missed it. Darnit, darnit son of a goat.
Though I guess a vegetarian would’ve been slightly out of place in a meat restaurant, as much as I appreciate kosher cuisine.
Eventually I will meet up with some NYC Dopers. Maybe to celebrate my second anniversary on the boards?
Rafua shleima (a complete recovery) to Chaim.
I hope someone ate a rib for me.
And oy, where are my manners? Indeed, all good recovery wishes for Chaim, Zev. Poor bunchkin.
When you started talking about ambulances, Zev, I thought you were going to refer to the indigestion. (Actually, you were one of the sane ones who didn’t have the buffet, weren’t you–I knew I shouldn’t have done that, but boy was it tasty).
Sorry to hear about your little Chaim (as opposed to Red’s little Chaim or cmkeller who is a big Chaim). Hope he gets better soon.
It was fun seeing all of you, and meeting those who I hadn’t met already. We’ll plan one of these again soon.
Yep. I’ve been on Weight Watchers and everything on that buffet platter looked SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO good and fattening that there was no way I was going to touch any of it.
Zev Steinhardt
Refuah Shaleima from me, too, Zev.
And good boy about Weight Watchers…I’m doing their “points” thing myself, but let myself go on occasion, like last night.
Lord, there are so many special occasions in a year…
Chaim Mattis Keller
Yep. So much for latkes this year.
Too bad the Channukah miracle didn’t happen with PAM.
Zev Steinhardt
Glad the kidnick’s ok, I can’t imagine what that must’ve felt like as you walked in the door! It was great seeing everyone and I’m really glad we did this. Happy Thanksgiving and Channukah…
