Oh, and Billdo, if you’ve started keeping track (which you possibly haven’t), jeremy evil won’t be coming with me. He’s not really into the Dopefest thing, even on a smaller Doperéal-type scale, so this would overwhelm him.

Annie-Xmas, one thing we were talking about was extending the Comic/Game store down to Forbidden Planet and the Strand, so your thoughts might just work out as part of the official plan. They’re pretty near America in any event. Perhaps we’ll be in touch.

DAVEW0071, you know, of course, that the official disclaimer says: “We encourage all attendees at these events to obey the laws of the jurisdiction in which they are held.” That being said, Blondies is a restaurant and thus should let under-21’s in without a problem. Ace Bar, on the other hand is a bar, and thus theoretically doesn’t allow underage people. On the other hand, I’ve heard, only hypothetically mind you, that if a large group of older people walk into a bar with just a small number of younger folks, the ID’s of may not be consistently checked.
As part of the brilliant future Broadway duo, I also would love to see boobalicious cleavage.
Anyway, it looks like a go for me for sure. IF I can swing Monday off as well, I will. A “friend” Meghan might wish to come as well, but if she comes, I might once again stay at the Wolcott, with it’s lovely view of the top of the ESB from the front doors, close to the local Wendy’s and Adult video store…

I’m not 100% sure what I’ll be doing the week before the fest; I may actually be up in Canada, in which case I would be happy to swing by Montreal to get you and anyone else who needed a ride.
Or, you (and anyone else who needs) could take the bus down here the night before and we could drive down from here. Just let me know.
Oh, and while I’ve got you here, CuriousCanuck, let me express my extreme displeasure at the fact that I have e-mailed you numerous times and not gotten a response… but then again, maybe you were busy with your new “friend”.
As far as I know, I am still in. I swear to God, that for once I will make it to a NYC Dopefest! (after being denied two years ago by my car’s clutch falling out, and the year before by three feet of snow!)
I do, however, need a way to get down there (I’m afraid to drive into the city.) Maybe even a place to stay. I’ll look at the hotels and see the prices, if they are reasonable then I might be able to stay there, or split a room with someone perhaps?
And now that I am 21 I can do the whole bar thing! Of course, since I am broke as all fuck and drinks from bars are pricey, I might be drinking…but at least I can get in!
