w00t! That’s where I’m gonna be Sunday night! I love that place so much I actually know how to get there on my own. 
Just to keep you all updated, we’re in the process of finalizing the itinerary.
I hope that it’s just the holidays that have keep all of the people we expect to see there from posting that they’re coming.

I am going to be in the Anitamobile and will be there Friday through Monday. Of the optional activities, so far I think I’m doing the Zoo. 
Not sure what else yet.
Folks who are concerned about hotel prices can try the Herald Square Hotel or the Hotel 31 (which doesn’t seem to have its own site). These are both “European style” hotels which means that you can get a room with a sink, but share the bathroom with other guests. If you don’t mind doing that, you can really save some bucks: I’m splitting a room with OpalCat for $34.50/night each. Both of those hotels are near the Red Roof and Hotel Wolcott, where other dopers are staying.

A sudden car repair has forced me to move to the “Unable to Attend” list. If something changes, like if I hit the lottery or if the check I’m expecting comes in from the Nigerian investor with whom I’ve recently begun doing business via e-mail, I should be able to make it, but right now, things look grim.

I’m not sure if you need head counts for reservations for stuff, but I’m in for the big dinner on Saturday night (at America, right?).
I kind of have a hankering for the Chinatown food on Sunday night.
I will be at any and all bars on any night.
After all that, I do have to be a little careful about the spending. I have a little more leeway than I had last year, but not by much. I figure two or three nights of drinking and two semi-expensive meals, that’ll be about it. So day time activities better be on the cheap for me.
I will do my best not to over extend myself (as well as not over-drink) so hopefully I won’t be a whiny little bitch complaining that the zoo’s too expensive or something like that.
Basically, I’m gonna go with the flow and hope I make it out alive.

As far as I know, I am still coming…unfortunatly, Anita, I looked around at hotels.com and those other sites, and ~$35/night is the cheapest I could find, and that is still waaaay to expensive. Words cannot express how little money there is in my bank acount and how little of a job I have (well, words can express that, no job.) Ack. Maybe I shouldn’t go, after all, dinners and so forth will still cost money…argh…need a way to get money fast…

I can’t . . . I spend half of my weekends in Phila. helping out my mother, so my “free” weekends aren’t exactly free anymore, timewise or moneywise . . .
Anyone wants to get together for lunch or tea on a weekday, I’m there . . .
Honestly, I think I could do alright without a place to crash, bums live on the street, why can’t I? It will be fun!
I am sooo glad I have my plane ticket. It’s beginning to look a lot like a dopefest!!!
And Eve I’m sad that I won’t get to meet you in person. Maybe the next NY fest.
