I don’t know how moderate/liberal Republicanism will play in Ohio right now. DeWine was hardly a right-winger, but he got squashed. Blackwell of course was far right, but he was also far crooked and far tied to Taft. Voinovich is a moderate, but hasn’t had to face an election since the tide turned.
