Obama voters: voting for Obama or against Romney

Those of you who are planning on voting for Obama on Tuesday, are you primarily voting FOR Obama, or rather AGAINST Romney?

For

For Obama and against Romney.

Yes, both.

For

Pro O.

As Pubbies go, Romney’s not that bad. Indeed, the Mass gov Romney might have earned my vote in less dire circumstances.

But the economic situation at home and abroad is too fragile, and the global political scene too chaotic, to be run by the right-wing crackpots who are the current Republican party. Now is not the time to be playing games. Now is not the time to try speeding up the car by stripping its body down to the frame and some seat cushions.

Both is not an option so I won’t vote.

But it’s your patriotic duty as an American!

For Obama. I’ve been very satisfied with his performance (especially under the circumstances) and even some of his more liberal-enraging policies such as the drone attacks are things I approve of.

Actually, both. I would have voted for Obama no matter who he was running against, or against Romney no matter who he ran against.

Like a lot of people here, both. I am an Obama fan so I am voting for him but I’d surely have voted for alot of other Democrats because I don’t feel like Romney is a good pic for the White House.

More for Obama but still against Romney.

I voted FOR in the poll but in truth, I’m voting both for Obama & against Romney (and Republican administrations in general).

As for the “liberal-enraging” stuff - it’s not like Romney is offering to be a non-enraging alternative. I knew Obama wasn’t a liberal the first time I voted for him. I have no regrets or expectations that he will suddenly become a liberal if I vote a second time. For a non-liberal, he’s still a way better choice than the alternative.

Against Romney. I’ve never “voted for” anyone in my life, only against.

Against Romney. I’m not opposed to voting for a Republican candidate (and have in the past). But two things jump out:

  1. The republican party has simply gone nuts. I’d welcome a return to actual debate and moderation.
  2. Romney has shown nothing during the course of his campaign other than that he’ll take any position possible to win the office. That’s not a man I’d be comfortable voting for.

Voting not so much anti-Romney (seems like he’d be a mediocre but not disastrous president) as voting to avoid rewarding the pure obstructionist tactics adopted by the Republicans in Congress.

Seat cushions? What are ya, some damn socialist?

For Obama, although the Romney campaign has thrown Obama’s achievements into sharp relief. I’m with Jonathan Chance: I’m not automatically opposed to someone with an ® next to their name (I have in the past been a registered Republican as well as a registered Democrat) but the current GOP is full-on crazy nasty.

I could conceivable vote for an ® guy, as I’m not enamored of Obama, but in the current climate of Congressional Rs, a vote for Obama is the only way I can see it. If the Dems were solidly in control of Congress, I might consider voting ® and maybe even Romney, although it would take some unusual circumstances.

Both. I genuinely support a lot of what Obama tried to do and I want to give him a second chance at it and I would eat glass before I’d vote for a lying snake like Romney.

both/and - I’d like for Obama to be the right-wing candidate & to have a chance to vote for a competitive candidate significantly to the left of him, particularly on foreign policy, but that’s not an option and he’s possibly the best president (from my perspective) of my lifetime, which is damning with faint praise.
