Yes! My friend was on politicalcompass.org yesterday and I noticed that Obama and Romney are practically on top of one another in their graph. I would love for a real liberal candidate to be an option and I’m hoping that re-electing Obama will help push the pendulum more towards the center.
Another “both”.
I’m not in love with Obama but I think he’s doing a good job.
Romney however scares the fuck out of me. 4 years of that guy and the rich will become the super rich and the poor will be wandering the streets selling apples.
Both. I like Obama and Romney repulses me.
I am pretty OK with Obama’s performance, but after the Republican antics in congress, there is no way I would ever vote for a Republican until/unless they make some pretty huge changes.
The fact that Romney is such an ass-clown, just makes it really-really easy to overlook Obama’s shortcomings…and most of those (IMO) involve the sin of leaning too conservative, so it is not like any R candidate is going to better on that score anyhow.
For Obama. I’ve been pretty happy with what he’s managed to do despite circumstances. Despite liberal kvetching to the contrary, he’s been far more successful in advancing his parties agenda then any other President of either party in my lifetime.
I don’t really have anything against Romney. If a less impressive Dem was running against him, I’d still probably vote D, but more because of my dislike of the current GOP in general then Romney in particular.
For Obama and against this current iteration of Republicanism, not Romney himself.
I’m protesting the no “both” option, as well.
Both. I assume that’s what the “other” is for?
For Obama, against the Republicans, and against Romney - in that order.
Other is a lot of things that my “both” doesn’t consist of. I choose against vague choices… This is why Romney isn’t getting my vote.
I’m surprised how strongly some of you seem to feel about Romney. I don’t think he’s evil or anything; I just think he is staggeringly clueless about anybody who makes less than, say, $200,000 a year. I don’t think he has any ideas about how to do anything as a politician and not as a businessman. He’d run this country like a business, and his board of directors would be his wealthy friends, and he would do whatever they told him to do because he just doesn’t have any ideas of his own.
I don’t think he’s intentionally evil. I think his policies are potentially disastrous; The fact that he honestly believes in them makes him frightening.
Count me in for “both” as well. But as much as I love Obama (and that’s what I picked in the poll), I do think it should be noted that it will set a very bad precedent if Mr. Etch-a-Sketch Romnesia is allowed to get away with just ignoring fact-checkers and blatantly lying his way into office.
I also don’t think he’s evil, but what you’re describing is bad news, I think, if his friends are the Republicans. Because the Republican party right now is not a party I trust.
I am voting against the Republican congress more than anything.
And really, no one is intentionally evil unless they’re a fictional character. In real life, people think they’re doing the right thing. They just have a screwed up idea of what the right thing is.
In reference to the poll: I picked FOR, as I’ve generally agreed with the President’s position on most matters during the last four years, especially considering the political environment he’s had to work with. That’s a rare situation for me, so this year I’m actually happier voting for him than I was in 2008. Anyone on board for repealing the 22nd amendment?
Not on your life.
I’d say “against the Republican party” much more than either for or against Obama or Romney. The GOP simply cannot be allowed to be in control under any circumstance.
I would have to say both for Obama (who has done a reasonable job despite the dire circumstances under which he took office and the irrational anti-Obama sentiment of the right) and against Romney/Ryan because I don’t think a repeat of the Bush presidency is something I want to see happen. Since “Both” is not an option I selected “Other (?)”.
Awww, why not? Worried that Bill or GW might run again? Scared of the sensibilities of the general populace?
