Obi Wan Kenobi series to start filming in March, {Now showing as of June 2022}

Just as long as it isn’t from serpopards.

You won’t see any praise for the story for me, but the performances make up for it. Leia, in particular, is great: She’s clever, resourceful, and wise, but in ways that make sense for a kid, and they show her coming to wrong conclusions sometimes when those conclusions are logical from what she knows.

So that first dead jedi was the old guy that was helping Ahsoka recover her lightsaber in one episode of Clone Wars wasn’t it?

This 51 second video has a better narrative arc than this Kenobi show thus far. I’m looking forward to seeing Vader vs. Mini-Vader next year on Disney+.

Gee, I dunno - because Obi-Wan had screwed up so badly with Anakin he didn’t think he could raise a kid? Because he hadn’t had a normal upbringing (what with being in the Jedi Order since toddlerhood or whatever) and wanted Luke to grow up like a normal person? Because he worried about being discovered as a Jedi and didn’t want anything to link him to the boy?

Pretty sure the paycheck had something to do with that. You don’t have to like your boss.

And while Prowse’s face was never shown and his voice was over-dubbed from the first movie forward it was known that he was the guy in the Darth Vader suit. Certainly, he had his fans and was appreciated by them, including the 501st.

Darth Vader was a mixed-bag for Prowse.

Say, speaking of that weak storyline, it occurs to me… OK, the ship is being tracked. But why does that matter? I mean, they’d have to be idiots to go back to the Path now, instead of to, say, Alderaan. They had an excuse last time they were on a spaceship: It was unmanned and didn’t have any controls. But right now, they can go anywhere they want. And even if the Organas haven’t officially signed on with the Resistance yet, delivering their daughter safe and sound would certainly recruit them, and they’d be powerful allies. And they could also offer the now-certainly-compromised Imperial officer a new job.

Does stormtrooper armor stop anything? Seems like it’s about as effective as cotton or nylon.

It provides other benefits, such as hands-free communication, temporary life support, resistance to depressurization, a HUD, smoke filtering, etc. Also compare what the blasters do to other things that are not stormtroopers, like that glass that was holding back all that water. The armor absorbs the blaster bolts and disperses it throughout the body which can knock them out, so they are not all dead. Think about it, you don’t actually see the blasts penetrate or destroy the armor, you just see the stormtroopers fall down.

I always thought he also said “You’re on the planet furthest from.” No “it” on the end. Maybe it’s the Mandela effect.

At least with lightsabers, the wound is instantly cauterized. None of this bleeding all over the place.

Unless you’re a walrus person.

Did you see that Carrie Fisher actually had a pet bird as a child? Her name was Lola.

Well, there’s that. It could have been messier though.

Stormtrooper armor was designed by the Imperial Stormtrooper Systems Center—Natick to provide the very best in personal protection to highly valued and elite warfighters against the blaster, turbolaser, and slugthrower weapons of Rebel scum, using powerful portable shield generators to enhance the protection offered by plasteel structure. However, because of a transcription error in copying re-engineering the clonetrooper armor design, the shield generators were oriented in the reverse direction, projecting inward toward the occupant. This means that when the armor is struck by any kind of impact or energy bolt, the deflector shield compresses inward in the affected area, reducing nearby tissue to a pulpy contusion. This is why stormtroopers are slow and always maintain an arms distance between them, because even a casual bump or falling on their face can result in the occupant being fatally masticated by impinging deflector fields. Clever stormtroopers have learned to deactivate their field generators in between inspections but getting caught doing so can result in being sent to trash compactor cleaning duty from which mysteriously few return.

I mean, just how come Bail Organa wasn’t executed as a rebel long before the events of ANH?
His little daughter has been seen travelling with a Jedi. Across multiple planets. Was captured and interrogated. In a major Empire base. Was rescued by said Jedi. From the base. An operation where she was seen by hundreds escaping with Kenobi and a Imperial defector. After an action where there were multiple Imperial casualties.
Does Qui Gon teach Obi Wan how to do a mass memory charms

(And by the way Leia looks so much like Padme’s daughter the Imperial Child Protection service probably has bailiff’s on the way to Vader’s castle, 30 seconds after she got entered into the system)

I think the Senate is still around as a fig leaf, and the Empire isn’t quite ready to rip it up. And if all those stormtroopers swear they didn’t see a little girl with the wanted criminal Kenobi? What then? She was kidnapped by pirates, don’t forget.

And on a completely shallow note: Indira Varma wears the hell out of that Imperial uniform.

Which the Empire knows was done by the Inquisitors.

Just as shallow. In Rome she is about the only female character who doesn’t get totally naked, and she is the hottest there.

I’d quibble and say the Inquisitors know it, but not the Empire at large. But they’ll just sell the pirates story to the Senate. Who’s to say otherwise?

Quite possible. I think it’s also possible that, even when the Empire realizes that Bail Organa likely is a Rebel sympathizer and/or traitor, they aren’t willing to roll him up quite yet, but instead wind up monitoring him, in order to uncover the network that he seems to be part of.

i did not know that… a lovely way to honour her pet.
