We’re driving to Wonderland and taking the T. (We live on the North Shore.)
I’ve been thinking of making a sign - “Colorado doesn’t need any More ICE!” Yeah, it’s funny inside my head, and my wife granted it was vaguely original (quick websearch doesn’t show anyone else using it) but I worry deeply it’s actually a groaner.
I’m going somewhere in the Seattle area.
IMHO folks have figured out no need for “Performative” protests (the pussy march on Washington). That said, having thousands of completely peaceful protests around the US is a shot across the bows.
If Seattle were closer, I’d be at the ICE building wearing an Uncle Sam costume with an upside down “distress” US flag. Costumes, furry’s and naked bike riders are the way to make Trump brain 'splode. At the same time, avoid taking the “violent protest” bait that leads to bringing in the national guard and/or military.
Ya, a buncha 70 year old retired hippies in a furry costume is an “insurrection”.
I live in Bougietown, Republifornia (south Orange County). My group is a few towns over, and we’re small but mighty. Up to now, I’ve felt safe. But now that we’ve all been officia designated Antifa, a tiny part of me wonders if shit’s gonna get ugly. Regardless, needs must.
I have a few “No Kings” signs but I feel like we’ve veered from royalty to dictator.
I’m another who only just learned about the significance of yellow, and that’s not a color that suits me so I don’t have any. I ordered a tee from Amazon but it very well might not show up on time.
Ha, South Africa has six (or seven, but one throne is disputed, so techically empty).
We win!
I am in Topeka Kansas and there will be an event on the statehouse grounds. I wonder if the WBC will be there, it;s been a while since they had any significance. Their young people are leaving.
For me:
Grant Park in Chicago.
I am pretty sure the government will be there taking pictures and I will be on a list.
Not to mention Chicago currently has a bad relationship with ICE who are likely to be there. I do not expect a riot but can’t say it is a zero percent chance.
Still going.
It’s great that she wants to participate - but at the last No Kings rally here in Providence, dogs were a huge nuisance. The plaza and sidewalks around the Capitol were very crowded, and folks were stepping into traffic to avoid ‘oh don’t mind him he’s friendly’. For that matter, kids and strollers were a hazard, but I think it’s important for them to witness and participate. Dogs, not so much.
Yes my wife and I are going here in Cincinnati. This is our 3rd
I thought this when I read @nelliebly’s post. PLEASE talk her out of bringing the dog. If you have to move quickly or if … well, I don’t want to speculate, but there is no upside to bringing a dog. This isn’t a Sunday picnic in the park.

Might depend on where you are. The dogs who came to our small town rally seemed much appreciated (and all well behaved.)

At the Hands Off and No Kings rallies we went to in Bellingham, there was a guy sitting under a tree next to us both times who had a very well-behaved dog named Grace. He said someone told him to ‘Go with Grace,’ so he does.
Meidas Touch is reporting that Trump is planning on shooting live missiles into the Camp Pendleton, California area from warships. It’s supposed to be part of a celebration for the Navy’s 250 anniversary.
So, California protestors, make of that what you will.
Blimey - and a re-enactment of D-Day and Inchon as well, or would that end up like his birthday parade?
@PatrickLondon : I like your avatar. Every time we go to a rally/protest, I think we should carry those signs.
We are planning on going to the No Kings rally at the capitol in Topeka, as we have done in the past. I think this will be our fourth rally. I hadn’t heard the thing about wearing yellow, but I have a number of yellow t- shirts I can wear.

I saw them at the one in June. They were parked on the street in front of the office building to the south, as they were not allowed on the statehouse grounds (reserved for the No Kings protest only). But I hadn’t seen them at the two previous rallies we had been to.
OK, so, aside from adopting the color yellow, and hoping for larger attendance, is there any other difference between this protest and the last one in June? Like, a different focus/message or tactics?
Lenape Park, Perkasie, PA! Yep, that thriving metropolis. Kidding aside, it’s a populous Philly suburb. Will also be bringing donations to the local food pantry. Oh, and wearing yellow, if I can find something…
Asheville NC — Hoping for a large group of folks.
