Odd Animal News

That’s some terrible coding :smack: let’s try

Dizzy ducklings plucked to safety

Well, I’m certainly glad they didn’t run afowl of a reptilian insurance company.
Thanks!

Elephant escapes after traffic accident.

Honestly? The first thought I had was “<Gasp!> The missing link to Angelina Jolie!”

(And I do think Ms. Jolie is attractive–that wasn’t a dig. But look at that pic again? Shave off the hair, give it four or five babies…I’m just sayin’)

I’m thinking Michael Jackson. Check out the nose. Of course, that may change next week…

Dogs (and monkeys) dislike unfairness: Dogs Understand Fairness, Get Jealous, Study Finds : NPR

Someone had a thread about that one recently. Other dolphin news, including from Thailand and Cambodia, here.

That is one scary-ass worm.

A three pound rat?!?!?

An airline just for pets

No humans allowed, just the pets. Good grief.

Extinct ibex is resurrected by cloning

Tasmania battles the recession

I’ve seen and used writing paper made out of elephant dung. It’s pretty rough, but I like the novelty factor. Not widespread, unfortunately. I wonder how paper made from wombat dung stacks up.

And here we go again. They’re renewing the old plan to implant microchips in elephants, to control them in Bangkok. This pops up from time to time. I and many others say if you can’t track an elephant in Bangkok, you’re pretty hopeless to begin with. They’re not even supposed to be in the city at all.

Cambodian spiders are under threat. Oh no! No more snacks! :eek"

hahahaha!!!

“Snake wine” from Thailand seized by customs officials in Miami

I’ve seen that stuff for sale in the UK (although I doubt it contained many pickled King Cobras, more like soused grass snakes).

This is stretching the definition of “animal news” about as taut as it can go, but I don’t know where else to put it: English backpacker dies in Thailand from spider bite in Laos. (The spider being the animal here, NOT the backpacker.)
