What’s the oddest podcast you know? The other day I stumbled across JudyCast, aka The Entertainment Beat with Frances Gumm. Judy Garland has returned from the grave (or perhaps never died; I haven’t quite sussed that out yet) to offer songs, stories, commentary on current events and general bizarreness. “Judy” is a pretty spot-on impersonation in speaking and the singing isn’t terribly far off the mark either. I’ve been working my way forward through the podcasts in order (sadly the first four episodes aren’t on iTunes and I haven’t gotten around to getting them from the homepage). Apparently in later episodes Judy and her faithful producer, Roger Darling, are joined by the likes of Bernadette Peters, Carol Channing and other highlights and lowlights from the world of entertainment. Deeply weird and very funny.
