Ode to a sneeze

I think that I shall never see,
A thing as lovely as a sneeze.

Not that I have seen it then,
For it is as invisible as the wind.

But the feeling is a pleasant bliss,
And as I sneezed twice I’m due a kiss.

I look forward to a glorious day,
When having sneezed four times, better things come my way.

Although my mustache is now a mess,
By hordes of strangers I will soon be blessed.

And blessed also by those I hold dear;
Those from a far and those from a’ near.

Although orgasmic my sneeze was not,
95 miles per hour and dripping with snot,

This does not change how I enjoyed,
As my sinuses became a near empty void.

Yes, I think that I shall never see,
A thing of beauty to rival the sneeze.

Beautiful!

Though I hate sneezing, because I’m a chronic sneezer, and I never sneeze only once. It’s aways 5 or more times, I think I hit 12 in a row once, and nearly fell over! I then end up congested and runny nosed for the next hour or so. Generally, the moment I step out of the shower, I sneeze. I have to keep it in mind in my morning schedule!

Though if you say that multiple sneezes means I get a kiss or good luck… someone owes me!

It’s English I think:

Once, a wish
Twice, a kiss
Three times, a letter
Four times, something better

My prose was inspired by a rash of sneezing this morning and this rhyme.

Best news I’ve heard all day

Race you to the pepper mill.

So I’m at least due the lottery or something! Wishes and kisses and letters are nice, but I’m paid up for “something better” a hundred times over (and that’s just this week!)
