{{{Red}}} - DANG!!! So glad it wasn’t worse! Yay for the dog-person cop! Hope you mend quickly.
We had our t-storm last night with lots of boomers. The idiot dogs barked at the biggest booms. Apparently they thought someone was breaking into the garage based on where they faced as they barked.
We hauled the laundry down last night so while the household sleeps, I’ve got the first load in the washer. Today’s a 3-load day, so it shouldn’t take too long. And according to the weather forecast, there’s 80% chance of storms this afternoon. We’ll see how things look around 1. The game starts at 2 and maybe the storms will hold off till later. We shall see.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 74 Amurrkin out and partly cloudy with a predicted high of 94 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. I’m sure the heat index will be well over a hunnert. We shall deheathenate followed by a <snerk> Quickie! <snerk> N.O.L. Other than that sloth shall ensue.
{{{red}}} yikes! Glad Nelson and you are OK. Yay for the dog person police guy!
Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then purtification for deheathenization must commence.
And very happy that you and Nelson and okay Red!
How scary for you and the pup.
It’s going to be cloudy today, with a high of 81.
I woke too early, 5:30, but spent the morning getting a few things done and sitting outside for bit without feeding the skeeters.
The neighbor was conmiserating with me over the fence about the skeeters and the squirrels. They both are in abundance this year, and both are annoying as hell.
FCM, don’t know what to tell you about the ‘kids’.
Mine drives me nuts because he doesn’t put things back. He washes the windows, I have to put the Windex away. He vacuums, I have to wrap up the cord and put the vacuum away. He mows the lawn, I have to drag in the cord and put it away. Makes a small repair, I have to put the tools away. He fixes something to eat, I have to put the dishes in the dishwasher.
I feel bad bitching about it, because at least he does something, but honestly, how hard is it to stick the Windex back under the sink when you are done?
**sari **- no kidding! Yesterday after I went to them and specifically called them out on the gunk in the kitchen strainers, SIL walked past the sink FOUR TIMES and never cleaned them. I ended up doing it myself because I was cooking and my stuff mixed with theirs.
Oh, but he was quick to volunteer to rinse the dishes last night. And he did empty the strainers then. But this morning, I noticed the big pot hadn’t been scoured, so I had to do it myself. All he did was rinse it. ugh.
Did some shopping early and rewarded myself with some fresh Krispy Kreme donuts. Take a couple of hours to help pass out soccer uniforms (we’ve been doing this for two weeks and there is still a couple hundred parents that haven’t made pickup yet–they’ll probably wait until their kids first game and then complain how long it is taking…
I initially read that as honky tonk car alarm. I could see that…in Nashville.
Thanks for all of the hugs (the virtual kind that doesn’t hurt my ribs ). It’s good to be home. Nelson is grokking my being very slow and deliberate in my movements. <3 I need to finish unloading the car today, including the stuff that was more-or-less permenent fixtures in the trunk of my old car (camp chair, paper towels, windex, jumper cables, etc ), the umbrella and hiking stick from the back seat and the tote that I use as a suitcase (I drove an open bed pickup for years, hence the totes). I think I’ll order groceries online for delivery because, carrying stuff. I’m caffeinating with tea this morning, because I used the last of the milk for coffee before I left. Then I will start shopping online. I have to find something that I can afford the payments and insurance for so I won’t be one of those middle aged people who have to have a half dozen roommates to make ends meet.
Now that that is done and out of my system ---------- the family reunion went well and we’re going to Kennywood with a slight detour I will relate.
As I was reading down the thread the phone rang and it was the wife of one of our other long-term friends. We learned that he has passed away (he had been sick for a long time and it was just a matter of when) Wednesday and the viewing and stuff is this afternoon. So on the way to the park we’re going to have to change routes a little and have some hugs and stuff first with some people who need them. Yeah, as we get older stuff like this becomes more a regular thing. We could have always been nasty and hated by everyone and hated everyone in return ------- but stuff like this is small payment for the terrific lives and friends we’ve had so its hard to be sad even when we’re sad.
Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. We did survivor night last night (we stay up all night, and make the rookies play games). Now that i’m back up, I’m packing to go home tomorrow, and need to go and say good bye to people leaving today.
red , Good luck on the car looking.
**ruble **, that’s why I hate to miss Convention. We’re losing 1-2 people a year now.
I slept in this moaning, & slept in my own bed last night; something that hasn’t happened on a Sat night since at least June, & the sleep in on a Sun moaning since at least mid-May but since Fri night was away, still counts as another (partial) weekend away.
Once attended a cow-orkers father’s funeral; hit McD’s afterwards, not for food but for [del]bathroom[/del] locker room - to go from suit to bathing suit as it was most of the way to Anna Polis. Red, see if honky-tonk car alarms &/or horns are options on new car.
…okay, time to start adulting.
Howdy Y’all! We deheathenated, had a <snerk>Quickie! <snerk> N.O.L., went to :eek:Wally Jr., got back to da cave, put stuff away, and just achieved nappage. All in all a pleasant Sunday so far. {{{Ruble}}} sorry about your friend.
Took a short nap, like 10 minutes, this morning. I had a longer nap this afternoon. I’ve gotten things done, but just puttering type things.
I have to get a new comb, Ripple claimed mine as his own. Everytime I comb my hair he jumps up next to me and asks me to comb him, so now my comb is his comb. He is also fascinated with my new electric toothbrush and wants me to brush his teeth. I doubt he would like it if I stuck it in his mouth. I know I won’t want to use it again.
I need to start dinner, tacos for the kid and pork chops for me. Ripple will get a little of both.
I should make some deviled eggs. I had a dream I was making deviled eggs. I was frustrated thatI had put the eggs in the water and didn’t notice the time. Then I was trying to boil already peeled eggs and I couldn’t figure out how to do it without the shell.
I have a basket upstairs I want to bring down for the dogs toys. Right now we are using a cardboard box, a basket would look nicer. I’m debating what to do with his bed, it is too small for him but he still likes to drag it around from place to place. I’m tired of looking at it in the middle of the floor.
We have a basket for dog toys, as much good as it does. No sooner do we toss everything in it than Higgs starts taking stuff out of it. Worse than kids!
We watched our team go behind 3-0 in the top of the 6th, and then the skies opened. So we’re home. I don’t know if they called the game or not. Doesn’t matter - neither team seemed to want to be there. Roxy slept thru most of it.
Supper will be Chicken Helper Chicken Fried Rice with some extra veggies because I can.
I think the storm has followed us from Regency Furniture Stadium - it’s getting dark out there.
{{{ruble}}} we’re at that time of life, aren’t we?
Sari, I think you should start a GoFundMe campaign to buy Ripple an electric toothbrush. Then film the result for U-Tube…
Uniforms distributed and registrations taken; we’re back over 1,000 players again. I’ve agreed to coach a 12U Boys and 12U Girls team this year, along with organizing the 7U girls league. Well, keeps me busy and out of trouble…
{{{ruble}}}. A lot of us are getting to the age where we really don’t want the phone to ring…
