SIL made supper - it was good, but he made too much. Which is better than not enough, I guess. **FCD **and I cleaned up after, and the dishwasher is now washing away. I’m about to assume the knit position. It looks as if it might rain, but who knows??
Ice cream later. And I may sleep with Mel again. I need a couple of good sleeps to get back to as normal as I can be.
Oh yeah, and Roxy puked in my lap. Envy my grandmotherhood!
butters**, give Louie some comforting from Nelson and me. Nelson only gets scared with the big thunder boomers, but he needs a lot of cuddling during them.
baker, since I’ve gotten out of corporate office wear, the only time that I ahrn is for job interviews, funerals and when customizing clothing.
I was the only reconciler in the department today. I expected that, as one had the day off and the other is working her way towards retirement a week at a time.
Here at home, they’re putting new gutters and soffet on my building and replacing any patio fence boards that need it, so Nelson is barking at the guys still out there. I am so ready for Firday to come.
For how much I complain about working sometimes, I’m glad my bosses care about their employees work-life balance. Burnout is a very real and dangerous thing in my line of work, and my bosses will do anything, short of paying actual overtime, to make sure we don’t suffer from it.
I decided to go with the five-day weekend and will work remotely Thursday, which, in its own way, a half day. I’d rather take a full day of work and let that day be Monday. That way, I can avoid meetings and another nuisances
I did once, I have no idea what happened to it.
If it’s something that needs ironing or dry cleaning I’m not buying it.
Another weird call today, I think maybe I should call him back and let him know he called the wrong number. I’ve gotten calls from this man in the past, and I think he means to call somebody else with the same name as me. He always leaves a message and says Hi myname, this is hisname. He wanted to talk to me about investments, then another time he told me somebody was in the hospital, then another time that he was picking somebody up at the airport and he wanted all of us to get together for dinner.
I have always ignored the VMs, but this time he said he was out at the marina and that so-and-so is missing and his boat isn’t there. Sounds a bit serious.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 73 Amurrkin out and clear (dark really) with a predicted high of 93 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. Bug guy is comin’ at eight this mornin’ and afterwards I shall go lay in provisions. OYKW will swipe The General’s Sup on his way home so I believe I shall have some quality cee-mint pond time this afternoon. Or not. Sinuses are kinda botherin’ me.
Indeed I do ahrn {b]CupCakes**. Both of us like one hunnert percent cotton shirts which need ahrnin’ after they are washed and dried. So every couple of weeks, I spend an hour or so with the ahrn and ahrnin’ board. After all one should not go about lookin’ all wrinkled and slovenly should one?
Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then I suppose I should purtify and don goin’ about the public attire. Bother!
It’s a dark 70 degrees outside, supposed to be cloudy today, with a high of 86 and rain in the afternoon.
I woke at 4:30, can’t blame my bladder though, I was having weird dreams.
The dishwasher is humming along, the dog has been out and has gone back to bed. The cat is out sleeping somewhere. My son is sleeping.
I wish I was, but somebody has to irk and pay the bills.
Sari, when people say “hump day,” I still hear that obnoxious camel commercial. Hump DAAAYYY!!! It doesn’t help that my husband and his dad teach the kids that camels say “hump DAAAYYY!!” Yep, the cow goes “moo” and the cat goes “meow” and the camel goes “hump DAAAYYY!!!”
I won free tickets from my company to take Juliet Jr. to see the Packers preseason opener tomorrow night. She’s so excited, but I know she doesn’t have the attention span to sit for the whole game. It’s a good thing I didn’t pay $150 for the tickets because I’d be ticked when she wants to go home after half time. But it’s preseason, and I got them for free. I’m doing my “no rain” dance because we’re supposed to have scattered showers tomorrow night.
Morning all. The re-modelers were here a little after 7am, so good thing I got up about 6:30. Passed out about 60 soccer uniforms last night, probably do the same this evening.
The nice thing about retirement is that there is no Hump Day–they are all retirement days…
Juliet, enjoy the game, although I doubt you’ll see many of the ‘stars’ for very long in this game. But at least the price is right.
If I have clothes that need ironing/pressing, they go to the dry cleaners. Since retirement, the number of visits have dropped considerably.
Weather forecast says a 50% chance of PM tunder-boomers, we got some rain yesterday, so we’ll see waht today delivers. Sunny and 74F right now.
Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Sorta on the way. Had to turn back to drop off one of out tripmates, she was sick. From a spiderbite.
: glares at **Spidey ** :
T’wasn’t me. I [del]had my shots[/del] shot some[del]one[/del]thing; something.
Just think, on Thurs eve, you’ll be able to glare at me up close instead of thru a 'puter (PM sent w/ address.)
Speaking of shooting things; Oil Creek on Sat, Ruble?
Something I suspected was just confirmed - the old man who, with his wife, used to clean our offices, has died. The last couple of weeks he was here, the poor guy could hardly walk down the hall without stopping to catch his breath. They were both in their 70s and I’m pretty sure they worked because they had to. I hope he had life insurance so his wife can stop working.
He was a colorful character - a Native American with all kinds of stories - even if I only believed half of them, he had a helluva life. I hope it was a peaceful passing. I will miss seeing them - they were very friendly folks. RIP, Richard…
Still with the sunny clear skies to instant storm to sunny clear skies weather pattern. I am tired of it. Generally adulting but kicking around the edges of a summer cold. Mucinex and lots and lots of tea.
MetalMouse, yeah the big names sometimes don’t even suit up for the first game. But it’s free and it’s a fun experience for Juliet Jr. Even a preseason game at Lambeau is still an incredible experience, especially for someone so young. It’s like going to a weekday mass at an amazing cathedral. Yeah, it’s not the same as Christmas Day mass, but it’s still pretty darned cool. (Yes, I just compared Lambeau Field to a religious institution. 'Cause I’m a Packer fan and Lambeau is hallowed ground.) Plus, my daughter and I don’t get to spend as much one-on-one time as we used to, so it’s a fun mother-daughter event. We’re getting dinner, enjoying the game, and probably getting her a beef stick that’s almost as long as her arm.
