Off the road again in the MMP

**swampy **- we took our passports, our SS cards, and our auto registrations cards and insurance cards, since both of them had our address. Everything was scanned. We shall see if we get them next week like the lady said.

RoxStar is still sleeping. Her dad said they took a throat culture checking for strep. If her fever doesn’t break, they’ll be checking for a urinary tract infection. I’m guessing she won’t be going to the sitter’s tomorrow. We shall see.

Supper will be teriyaki poke chops, rice (and leftover smashed N.O.T.s), green beans-n-onions-n-mushrooms, and Amish 'maters. Gotta eat healthy again.

In California, REAL IDs have a white star on a gold bear’s butt.

There was some sort of kinkage in the DMV’s info gathering for REAL IDs last year - something like they didn’t get enough proof of residency or similar. They fixed it by mailing postcards to all affected. I got one, and just had to sign it and mail it back. Lots of people were near-apoplectic at the thought that they might need to go back to the DMV to fix things.

howdy yall … not much going on except the usual bs and were having the hottest week of the summer so far …
Had go get on the pc for my new atm card as some data breach at a store i used it at canceled it out so i was sent a new one … heh with my account they aint ever gonna get anything and i just memorized the numbers on the old one BofA uses the last 4 numbers on the card and your pin as your account number and when you have to talk to someone … then i have to do a sign up thing because the federal government is making people who sign up for paid in-home supportive services do all their stuff online recipients and the “employee” …can’t do anything the easy way i swear …

glad ya back FCM sounds like the visit from the inlaws wasn’t all that great of one this time

I dont know wether to ger a real id or not … I used to fly a lot but havent in years… and unless its an emergency id rather go by train …

The time with my inlaws wasn’t bad - they’re really sweet people. Unfortunately, the drive was a necessary evil. Sadly, it may be their last trip away from home.

Decided to call out and treat myself to a mental health day. Hey, I tried to schedule today off legitimately, putting the request in JUNE. Got denied because too many were already scheduled out. Too bad for Hades Annex, just once at this company I want my birthday off! Didn’t happen either previous year I irked here.

Had to run a couple minor errands, spending a lot of time online (when Comcast bothers to be up (grrr)) or playing stupid games on my phone or the 8" tablet I bought myself, treating that as a joint gift from DH and MIL.

Forgot to post this earlier -
Happy Nettie Day!!!

Blurf. We had a fantastic thunderstorm and lots of rain.

Hubs is not feeling well poor thing.

Blurf

Happy birthday nettie!

Glad RoxStar is feeling a little better Moooooooom.

Nice catio Johnny!

Well, hell week kicked off with a bang. The old bat will be out all week on bereavement, so’s it’s just me, unless the noob on weekends can come in a couple of days. I know that bereavement isn’t the old bat’s fault, but she’d been dragging her feet all month to get help at month end.

Nelson will go to daycare for the rest of the week. I irked an hour over this afternoon and will be irking 1-2 hours an evening, possibly more through Friday.

Moooooom, the quick turnaround trip that I was sooooooooooo glad to get home from was back in my early twenties. My bestie moved back to Wabash, IN from El Paso, TX and left her furniture in storage down there. In a five day stretch, we drove her Camaro down there, rented a U-Haul, loaded up the truck and drove both vehicles back. That was a total of 3100+ miles. I even showed up to irk the day following our return.

Happy Birthday Nettie! Don’t blame you a bit for taking this day off.

flyboy, nice catio. You’ll have spoiled cats (as if they already aren’t…)

Piper, hope you don’t have a heart attack when the lectrician comes back with an estimate…

FCM, hope the little one gets feeling better.

Rained on and off most of the day, nothing really thunder-boomerish, but soaked the fields enough that soccer practice was called off. 80% chance of afternoon and evening rain tomorrow, so soccer may not get practiced for a couple of days.

Tomorrow will be banking and haircut day. All y’all take care.

flyboy the catio looks great! Will they be able to reach a sunny spot for bathing?

I would like to share this tweet that I found when I clicked on the “Next Post” link, hoping for more pictures. Quite the little drama at the law office. You’d think that attorneys would know better than to put that sort of thing in a text.

You might as well send away for your birth certificate. Most places have an online site where you can order copies.

I can’t tell you how much I am looking forward to my next DMV visit. I can’t. :frowning:

Happy Birthday Nettie!

Good luck with work this week, Red!

Tomorrow I go in for a 2-day ketamine infusion. I expect it to be trippy (heh).
Kona dog has popped his ACL. We’re trying a new treatment starting today to try and keep him comfortable. If it doesn’t work, then we need to consider surgery. Of course, he hates the pills and manages to eat everything except them. He’s at least 13, maybe older, so we’d rather not do surgery due to the increased risks. On the other hand, until this happened he was still a very active and fit dog. I don’t want him to be in pain and unable to move.

I’ve got all the furniture into the new house, and the kitchen stuff. Next we’ll probably start work on my husband’s office and the kids’ stuff.

Happy Moanday everyone.

Red, I expect we’ve all done stoopit driving things. One spring break, I drove 24 hrs nonstop, partly in snow, to visit a friend. Then I did the same on my way back a week later. DUMB!!!

Daughter thinks Roxy is over her sick. After supper, she played with her blocks and in the bath. They plan to keep her home tomorrow, tho, since the sitter has an infant. That’s a little break for me.

And now, sleepy time for me.

Up at 3:30 in the am with gastric difficulties. I foresee a day with tea and toast as fuds.

I just used PV=nRT to try and answer a GQ… who said 6th grade chemistry wasn’t useful? Now I’m awaiting the pileup from people who know much more about weather patterns than I do, we’re sure to have someone.
The people at work have been working at polydimensional cross-purposes, so now I’m Asking Questions along the lines of “[halo]how do I make ThisList match ThatList?[/halo]” (when neither of the teams involved could be arsed follow instructions and each of them was allowed to do so). September 13 will be a beautiful day even if it’s raining cats and dogs under Siberian winds.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 75 Amurrkin out and cloudy, with a predicted high of 86 and P.M. rain/tstorms/apocalypse. We shall see. Today’s agenda includes laundry and chasin’ down EYP so we can nail down what all we need for a cookout planned for tomorrow for the choirs (two congregations equals two choirs). We’re doin’ hot dawgs and I kinda need to know stuff like how many folks are showin’ up and what foodstuffs besides hot dawgs we will need. Hot dawgs we already have. They’ve been in the freezer in the kitchen and are left from VBS. I have drafted a couple folks from our men’s group to assist as well.

Sunny thanks for the link. I do love a good train wreck.

{{{WetOne}}} feel better soonest!

Glad RoxStar is feelin’ better.

Red good luck at irk. Hope all goes well.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day. Rah.

Happy Tuesday Y’all!

Back at the office. I swear, I feel like I’ve been gone for weeks, but it was just my normal long weekend. Yep, sure sign that it’s time to retire…

Happy Tuesday!

Happy Toosday!

Happy Belated Birthday Nettie!

It’s a cloudy 64 degrees outside, supposed to get up to 75.
So another cool day of open windows.

My son got through his first day of school confusion.
Part of his confusion is that 3 of his 4 classes are MGMT classes, and so were 2 of his summer classes, which are still in the list as current. One of his professors this semester was also his professor over summer. Much confusion as he is trying to get straight which MGMT goes with which professor, and which classes he can ignore as he already took them. What is interesting is that the summer professor has given the same first assignments for this class as he did for the summer class, as has the ENGL professor that he had in the spring. The ENGL professor’s first assignment is exactly the same assignment as he gave in the spring class. Much confusion!
Also, the management professor told the class they had to respond to ALL of their peers’ introductions, not so bad when there were only 4 students in the summer class. Going to be a bitch with 30 students in this class. He thinks it is a typo, I think he’d better start typing.
Also, one of his other MGMT classes was given to a professor at the last minute, so that professor is still playing catch up.
His frustration level was pretty high yesterday.

Getting ready to go to the park.
Have to brush my teeth and put some shoes on.

Mor… uh, afternoon all.

Happy belated birthday Nettie!

I was planning on going shopping for some sensible grownup clothes today, but just as I was about to leave, got a notification that a parcel I was expecting tomorrow is on its way today. ETA is a pathetic ‘before 9pm’ and it’s not from the local depot which would let me pick up tomorrow, so I’m gonna have to sit in and wait, I think. Bah. There’s pretty good odds I won’t even get the delivery either, as the access to the house isn’t on the road the address says (weird layout, have to go down a side road, to get to the entrance at the back).

I’m sure there’s something more productive than messing about online that I could do, but I can’t think what.

I’ve done Pittsburgh to Orlando and back in three days a couple times; you have my sympathy.

Which remind me of the saying of a dear dearly departed friend: you know where to find sympathy of course?

In the dictionary somewhere between “shit” and “syphilis”.

Got all my paperwork together for PAs version; figure to wait until it gets cold.

I always keep several stool samples handy just in case.

More to follow once I catch up.

A funny thing happened to me on the way to the MMP

Yesterday I got up early and just adulted the crap out of things. I backsorted our leftovers from the sale getting ready for our swan-song outing next month, I put some of the t-shirts we’ve been wearing away and got out a fresh batch for winter, did several loads of laundry, had a little breakfast ------ and did this all between say 7-10:30am. Got to my desk and computer, logged into the Dope, and looked down at my day-book. AH CRAP I’M DOING A DOUBLE AND NEED TO CLOCK IN AT NOON!!! SHIT!!! How the Hell didn’t I notice that sometime in the course of the weekend? I signed up for the shift 4 weeks back but ------

So I rushed and got on some work clothes and used the Sportie rather than the car. I figured if I hit traffic I could go around it or even over it if I had to; maybe cut through a yard or three. Fastest travel device I own. Got in with a half hour to spare and settled my nerves. And then the first shift was 3 and out ------- and I have 2.5 hours until I clock in again. :smack: So I went for a short ride through WVA into Ohio, had some lunch, and went back to work. So of course the second shift went 5 hours. :smack: And by the time I dragged my sorry ass home I was beat. In all my years at Da Jungle this is the closest I’ve come to blowing off a shift. I’m always so freaking early some folks thought I lived under a bridge or something. But I survived and got my work done well.

Sometimes life is an adventure.
