Off the road again in the MMP

And sometimes those adventures kick your lily-white butt…

Morning all. Wanted to sleep in but left the TV controller on the bed and rolled over and turned the TV on about 0630…so got up. Banking and haircut are still on the schedule, wet outside with more storms predicted. Need to forage for sustenance shortly.

Sari, is he taking classes in-person or via computer? And sounds like the Fall FUBAR is in session…

Sunny, best wishes to Kona Dog.

The paperirk or the weather?
India has lots of stray dogs. I was warned not to interact with any of them as they may have rabies, fleas, or other issues. There were two that I saw that I really wanted to pet; you could tell they were friendly & wanted some love. One was sleeping on the ground amongst all of the people before the race. I did see another person giving him scritches but someone started talking to me & then the dog had moved by the time I was able to walk over to it. The other was near a temple. The dog was near a family & the father tried to shoo it away from where they were sitting; at first, the dog thought it was a signal to come closer (& I could see that myself). You could just see the heartbreak in it’s eyes when it was clear it was to get away.

There were also some big kitty kats; though it was also advisable to not pet them.

Morning. We have downgraded our Condition of Readiness to 4 from the normal 5 though it is increasingly looking like a central Fl landfall for Dorian. I had to dust off the instructions and report attainment.

My lead clerk that retired a while ago is gracing up with her presence at lunch so it shall be pizza and salad. Other than that it is SSDD.

I just ripped some recruiter a new one; he’s sent me the same job three times in the past hour, as well as yesterday. It’s based in one of those “T” states, either TN or TX (2 choices); however, neither of them is exactly commutable for me. :smack:

Saw a great t-shirt at the gym this morning.
Top portion: They’re doing it wrong.
Middle portion: several stick figures lifting weights (squat, bench press, overhead press, etc)
Bottom portion: I would tell them…
Back:

…if only I spoke Hovitos.

Belated Happy Birthday Nettie!
I didn’t finish the catio after work yesterday. I fenced the section between the house and the door opening on the deck side, hung the tracks for the sliding doors on the deck side, cut three crosspieces for the right-side door, and attached hardware to one of the crosspieces so I can measure for the uprights. I’m taking Thursday and Friday off; so tomorrow I’ll make the doors and hang them, and tidy up the corner on the other side of the catio.

Banking done and hair cut. Only cost $9 since the place has a special on 2day and I got the old-fart discount.

coach, wonder how many folks got that…(I did).

spidey, understand about the dogs; had something of the same experience in China. And Tennessee ain’t so bad, y’all ought ta move down here…

Butters, hope you and yours stay safe this season.

Nappage is coming.

Hmmm, everybody seems to be working/napping/visiting now.

Nappage for me has been completed, there is thunder rumbling above which has caused the park department to cancel soccer practice (they own the fields and tell us if they are open or not). So another day watching MAS*H reruns (which is not a bad thing).

Press on.

Wouldn’t it be more fun to watch Japanese Giant Monster movies? (I loves me some Kaiju.)

I’m from the land of “youse”; I can’t live in a place where “y’all” is a word.

Howdy Y’all! Been an innerestin’ day. I did get some laundry done but not all of it. This is due to my attempt to organize a work project over to the church house. The project is to take up a stone paver path, which is really a trip hazard, and save as many of the pavers as possible for a future project. The pavers are cemented in (concreted in?) with some of that quick cement type stuff. The cement (concrete?) is not very thick and could be broken up and/or chiseled out. This would be some work but doable work with several folks helpin’ and maybe three or four sledge hammers along with regular hammers and chisels. Anywho trying to get that setup as a project for Sattidy mornin’, realizin’ that this is a holiday weekend in the USofA as well as the start of college football season. I’d like to get this done because someone (as in someone who does this professionally) has offered to provide both labor and materials to make a new, better, wider, and much safer path and would like to start this next week. I’ve had a fun day but may yet pull this off! We stole The General’s sup this evenin’.

Supper was yum - chickie tenders, noodles, and broccoli. The dishwasher is running, the ice maker is making ice, and I’m about to assume the crochet position.

Thus endeth my day.

Feel better soonest wet one!

spidey, Tennessee’s not so bad. Iffen you get a gig around NashVegas, I’d even buy you a beer. :stuck_out_tongue:

Day two of hell week is ending with a phone issue that I went to the AT&T sto’ to get checked out (after irking 11 hours). They basically ignored me and I figgered the solution out myself. When I got back home, the commode had a flush problem. I called maintenance to come in tomorrow, but am manually operating the flow valve for now.

I’s tah-red.

So I had a conference call on Monday, I had to work today on my day off, Tomorrow I have an hour drive to go to an 8 hour meeting, and I have a 4 hour training call on Thursday. And companies wonder why nobody wants to be in management.

Nice story Ark.

As do I.

Of course!

Pashaw. Them!, The Giant Claw, The Deadly Mantis, Night of the Lepus, Giant Spider Invasion, Giant Gila Monster, Attack of the Giant Leeches (which surprisingly was not about personal injury lawyers), and of course Gorgo. Plenty of non-Japanese great ones out there as well.

I’m halfway through the latest whacky treatment for my head. No big news otherwise.

All worthy suggestions – and better than many of the kaiju movies. But I do love the models, the music, etc.

The local independent station used to alternate kaiju and kung fu movies on Saturdays. That’s where I learned my love for them, and my ability to do bad dubbing lip sinc.

I once had a quite young tiger (maybe barely into adolescence) draped across my lap purring while I scritched his ears. He seemed quite unhappy when I had to leave.

Wound up spending unplanned money on Lyft to get to irk today. Beat doing the “bus bridge” thing along a light rail line with non-working trains. What happens in a “bus bridge” is they get buses going from train station to train station to move people. Problem with this is that it’s hellishly slow, horribly overcrowded, and everyone on board gets really cranky.
