Off the road again in the MMP

Going back to tall kids… one of my docs had their offices in what used to be a pediatric practice. All of the door knobs were at about five feet up so the kids couldn’t escape. The exam rooms also had exterior doors so contagious kids could go directly from parking lot to doctor without sneezing on the waiting room.

Got my Borg implant removed today, so now my heartbeat is once again private. No more wondering where the gizmo was broadcasting it to.

butters, that sounds like a lovely supper that you had last evening. Hope that your hubby is back on his feet soon.

ruble, the company that I irk for is the same way about selling to employees. When I replaced the battery the last time on the old phone, I knew that it wholesaled for about six bucks. Da Jungle wanted $25 and Batteries, Bulbs+ was getting $45.

I am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Here’s hoping that it isn’t a train. I got outta there about five today and will likely get out about four tomorrow. The noob on the weekend shift will have a day and a half to finish and close everything hanging out for the month. What pisses me off isn’t that the old bat is off (it happens) but that she should have been done with this a week ago.

Chilling tonight. Tomorrow evening, Nelson will have his usual playdate at the dog park and I plan to take at least one nice ride this weekend. The weather is perfect for it: not too stinkin’ hot and not too cold.

Worked, came home, napped. At least the meeting are over, and this Manhattan is killing the pain.

I’ve known people who’ve worked for UPS. You’re better off having it sorted and loaded by the Samsonite gorilla.

Still stay safe. Maybe they’ll nuke the hurricane from orbit.

Yay? Good luck?

well, cousin came and left for the weekend shitshow didnt happen because aunt ignored her but the pots boiling on that one … she drank all our milk and orange juice and went grocery shopping for her bf and didn’t replace anything she used here …

I know pots some sort of legal in ca but she knows her moms against it and yet she makes a pot deal on the phone in front of everyone … only reason she tried to hide it is my disabled cousin heard her talking and was trying to say hi to whomever she was on the phone with …
i swear i could write Peyton place style novels about my family …

I finished the catio.

Bravo, flyboy Looks great.

shady, sounds more like a reality show on Lifetime…

Butters, stay safe and good wishes for husband-unit–stubborn though he may be.

Red, hope you dodge that train and have a great weekend.

3+ hours on the soccer field wore me down, but I make the kids collect all the cones and soccer balls I put on the field for them (The use my big belly for a backboard to’shoot’ the soccer balls into the bag basketball-style). Not overly hot so no burning. Get through the girls tomorrow and only one ‘pickup’ game on Saturday (no regular games due to Labor Day), so may feel up to mowing the lawn on Sunday.

Catch all y’all on firday.

You would think so but ---------- we had several people when we opened moonlighting from the UPS center behind our building; they came off shift as we went on so it made good money and no commute for them. Almost all who have done that over the years bail within a couple weeks because of the horrible way we build pallets and abuse boxes.

And while I am thinking of work – &%**#%&!!! The Hells Relation boss was there tonight and I never could get a word from her; even after she assured me yesterday I would have the definitive answer today. :smack: And she also promised yesterday that she would also send it all by e-mail. I checked both accounts and the no-account so-and-so didn’t even leave anything in my spam folders. :smack: :smack: And that funky 3am shift VET thingy? Everyone got one. One of our bosses was eating at his computer and hit a wrong key. :smack: :smack: :smack:

I did NOT buy a lottery ticket on the way home.

I have come to believe that at any DMV (or your local version thereof), when someone applies for employment, one interview question is “can you take a decent photo of a human being?” If the candidate says “yes”, s/he is promptly disqualified.

Grandboss has what one colleague of mine describes as “resting I-will-kill-you-in-your-sleep face”. I respect the woman’s professional abilities, but find her personally intimidating. Her seeming perpetual POedness (if that’s not a word, it SHOULD be) does not play nicely with my anxiety issues.

Miniature Emperor handled dinner tonight.

Just FYI, in California marijuana is legal for over-21 recreational use, under 21 theoretically requires medical justification. I just wish the stoners who ignore the no-smoking zones at light rail stations would find something that doesn’t smell like aged roadkill skunk.

Callers were reasonable human beings today, and not in outrageously excessive quantities, but computer woes made the day irritating. Bonus points for an odd episode shortly before lunch - I was dealing with a call, totally normal person/situation, and suddenly found myself sweaty and wobbly, hands shaking. I did recover after lunch. No known blood sugar issues, but I’m also in the restroom a lot more than usual lately, with approximately normal fluid intake.

The “most annoying part of my day” award today goes to the Princess. DH gets up at 0300, I get up at 0500. During that two hours today, she must have switched rooms five or six times. If I wasn’t getting up to open the door for her, I was dealing with blasts of light from the living room when DH opened the door for her. She just could not decide which human she wanted, apparently. Then, when I got up, she ignored us both. Too bad building management would frown on installing a cat flap in the bedroom door.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis <snerk> 69! <snerk> Amurrkin out and clear (dark) with a predicted high of 91 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. This mornin’ I shall attend to various duties over to the church house and then who knows what afterwards. Sup shall be majik intartoobz pizza.

Flyboy the catio looks great!

Butters stay safe! Looks like all of Flarhduh is goin’ to get Dorian.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then I suppose I should purtify and don appropriate bein’ about the public attire. Such bother!

Happy Firday Y’all!

To be fair, I didn’t even attempt to smile. I was thinking pleasant thoughts, but they don’t seem to translate to my face. Apparently my boss thought I was a major league grouch - he even said something to me about it - so for a while there, when he came to my office, I’d put on a big fakey smile. He understands now and he’s gonna miss me when I’m gone.

**Flyboy **- good job! Our Bengal would make short order of escaping over the top, but our other cat is too lazy, so she’d do fine. Last year we bought a screen room kit, but it’s still in the box in the garage. Maybe we’ll install it this fall…

Looks like I’m going to the MD State Fair tomorrow. Daughter and Roxy have been invited by my sister and she doesn’t want to make that long a drive alone with the baby so she asked me to go along. I’ve never been to this fair, despite growing up not far from where it was held. Not looking forward to the drive, but what the heck. **FCD **would like to go, but he can’t handle all the walking and he refuses to even consider a wheelchair, so he’s staying home.

Which means laundry will probably be put off till Sunday, unless I wash it tonight and hang it out overnight, then take it down when we get home tomorrow. We shall see. I do have to mow this weekend for sure. Meanwhile, the house is asleep and I get quiet computer time.

Happy Firday!

Happy Firday!

Up at 4:30 again, I’m not sure why my body thinks that is a good time to get up.

It’s a dark, and supposed to be clear, 57 degrees outside. Supposed to get up to 88 today.
We’ll be heading out for the park in about an hour.
School starts next week so we’ll probably go a bit later since everybody with kids will be coming later.

FCM - all good grandmothers brag about their grandchildren. If this were back in the olden days, you’d be opening your wallet, and the accordion folds would spill out to display about two dozen pictures of your little angel. Back in the day I only carried pictures of my dogs and my horse.

Got into a huge argument with my son last night, I actually went out for a ride I was so furious. We never argue like that but I have told him over and over to get his school irk done before I go to irk. Irk has been very busy and I am irritable with that already, without him asking me to proofread everything, or asking me which word sounds better, or reading his assignments to me to see how they flow.
I can so relate to what Nettie is going through, only toss in a few crazies who think they are being spied on by the CIA/FBI, or that they have been invaded by aliens - of the extraterrestrial kind. Because you know, they are just so damned important.

There are days I wonder how I came to be blessed with only two middle fingers. Fortunately, my customers can’t see me holding them up.

I need to do laundry today.
And the family reunion is Sunday, I think. It might be Moonday.
I guess I need to call somebody and find out.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to work.

Daughter is off to work. **FCD **is still abed. I think I’ll go shower now. Then I suppose I should do some chores or something.

Be grateful; called in at 3am & you’d likely be put [del]down in a[/del] put out to pasture…no severance pay, either.

You need to make this your signature!!!
I’s tahred; long night. Went to the Iggles game…at the Meadowlands; last 20ish miles took almost 1½ hrs. Then, when we got there (late) they had very few gates open so there was still a line of people waiting to get in. (I woulda been very  had I been waiting in that line from before the game started; I’m surprised they didn’t have a mutiny!) They also stop (overpriced) beer sales at halftime. Good thing there were some miniatures snuck in to improve the soda.
Got some good pics, both on the drive there & home, as well as in the stadium. There is some rule on length of camera lens; the zoom was in the smallest setting as that makes it shorter to carry. The guard asked me how long it got. I said it doesn’t get any longer, as I’m flipping the ‘lock’ button (to keep it in the smallest position for traveling/packing in camera bag) right in front of her while handing it over. Good thing she’s not a camera person because she couldn’t make it get any longer so she believed me.

It would have been voluntary so ----------. That is one thing nice about my level in Da Jungle; other than your scheduled shift everything else is pretty much your choice.

And you mention the Meadowlands … I can never hear anyone talk about it without hearing in my brain
Maidens are weeping
Their solitary vigils keeping
Weeping for their sweethearts who are fighting
Fighting in the mighty Red army, ah!

Other than that adulting. Getting some things together for our last sale next month and laundry and other stuff. Tomorrow we are heading for a couple days at Kings Island in Cincy; we’ve been lax in our park visits this summer and it will be a good chance to go nuts for a day or so.

I finally remembered to make an appointment with a dermatologist - it’s been too long since I had a full-skin check. They can’t see me till Oct 4!!! Luckily, there’s nothing particularly troubling at the moment, but I’ll feel better after a pro checks me over.

So you finally have skin in the game?

Morning all. Brain woke me up at 0530. Body sucker-punched brain and stayed in bed until 8am.

Really need to run the sweeper through the house, but for some reason I don’t like to do this most simple and easy house-cleaning chore.

Sunny, if you have another episode of near-fainting like that, I’d see a doc. Any family history of Diabetes?

Sari, someday that boy is going to have to face life as we know it. Keep at it and yeah, parenting is the most stressful job ever.

Spidey, so you went to New Jersey for entertainment? Strange…

FCM, enjoy the Fair!

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! :stuck_out_tongue:
