Off the road again in the MMP

Have fun at the fair Mooooooom! (and take a hat and sunscreen)

Up, caffeinating, breakfasting, bed stripped, towels and sheets in the wash and the puppy crate cleaned. In a few, I will do KP and purtify to go get groceries.

It felt good to sleep in this morning. Late this afternoon, Nelson may get another dog park run.

Cool.

Happy Saturday!

It’s a pretty but partly cloudy day today, with a predicted high of 84.

Family reunion is tomorrow, so of course it is supposed to rain.
It’s three hours each way, so I am not looking forward to the drive.

I’m planning on getting to the dog park by 7 tomorrow so I can be back home around 8 to leave for the reunion.
I’d like to take Ripple with me but I think he will not be allowed in the school.
A few of his friends at the park said they will try to be there at 7 so he can have a bit of a romp before I leave.
I think he should be okay here all day with my son, but he sure hates it when I leave him.

I wish my son would go, but I’m pretty sure he isn’t going to change his mind.

Potatoes are shredded, and the hashbrowns are cooking. Bacon’s in the oven. Water for my poached egg is boiling. Pan for Mrs. L.A.'s fried eggs is ready.

Cats are out prowling AlCATraz.

Afternoon all.

Soccer game played (we lost 2-4) and September stockage pretty much completed (need to drop by Wal-Mart this evening or tomorrow for a couple things). It’s 94F outside now, so I’m in no rush to get back out there.

flytrap, I’m not quite that bloody-minded; I was thinking of this (net optional for Spidey)

Sari, enjoy the reunion, weather good or bad…

Nappage sounds good real soon now…

I have been up, managed to deal with groceries and light unpacking, and then headed for a nap. Up again now. It’s very hot, and I would like to file a grievance. :frowning:

Howdy Y’all! This mornin’s task got accomplished. Well, the removal of the concrete got accomplished. The movin’ of the pavers shall be accomplished by the help of young(er) muscle at some point this next week. I put caution tape up in attempt to keep people from ramblin’ around in various debris. One would think that would not occur to people to do, but I live by the adage “never underestimate the amount of stoopid people.”

Frolickin’ at the cee-mint pond occured for a couple of hours, and then burgers, N.O.T. sallit and peach ice cream were consumed. Everyone left around five and now 'tis rainy out. Glad to be inside and dry. Methinks much soreness shall ensue from this mornin’s labor, thus, I shall take a mild pain med I have on hand for such occasions before beddy bye time.

MOOOOOOM hope y’all have/had fun at the fair. Haven’t been to a state fair in years. The Jawja one is in October.

Sari enjoy the family reunion. Better thee than me.

ETA: I has a sad. A very good friend and retired Priest died yestiddy. He was a great man and had post polio syndrome. RiP Bill, you will be missed.

Home and exhausted! The MD State Fair is disappointingly small. There’s a greater variety of animals down in our little county fair (Sep 19-22). But it was a nice day and we got a lot of fresh air and sunshine and Daughter ate deep fried cookie dough. I expect to sleep well tonight.

Knittage shall occur soon.

The county fair in my last county of residence far and away eclipses the Tennessee state fair in both size and attendance. They have seven entertainment stages with acts that you’ve actually heard of, great equine, cattle, hog and small animal barns, a permanent historical village with working a working steam powered sawmill, mule powered cane and grist mills, etc in addition to the rides and deep fried everything on a stick. :stuck_out_tongue: I took home a few ribbons from the arts and crafts building over the years. The state fair, about 1/3 the size with very little of the ag component.

Enjoy your reunion sari!

I’m sorry about your friend swampy.

Groceries are bought and a new cart for the studio. I need to put that together this evening. The bed is made and supper (chickee sallit and baby carrots…too lazy to cook this evening) is being et. I’m enjoying the weekend.

So my starter died. And Dorian might be paying me a visit. But I have beer, so all is as well as it can be.

red, North Carolina has a decent State Fair. I guess. I haven’t gone in 30 years.

Kebabs and corn on the cob for dinner tonight; chicken for Mrs. L.A., and rib-eye for me. I made seven (one chicken breast (4) and one steak (3)), and we each had one. Well, Mrs. L.A. had a couple cubes of chicken left. The cats ate those. The corn was huge. I had a rum on the rocks before dinner, and one with dinner. I’m starting to feel them; nevertheless, I think I’ll have one more.

The starter in the MGB dies a few months ago. The mechanic didn’t feel right about just replacing it with a Chinese one, so he had the one on the engine rebuilt ($$$).

Just saw the '62 Austin-Healey Sprite drive by. It makes me want to hop into the MGB for a spin. But… rum. :frowning:

(I did drive it to the supermarket today, so I got 8 miles in.)

Evening all. Went out to eat after nappage, ended up at Steak and Shake and treated myself to a triple steakburgers w/fries and a Chocolate Shake, so all is right weith the world. Then piced up my last items for the September stockage.

Tomorrow will be mowage, try to do it in the morning before the heat takes over.

All y’all take care.

My lunch was a Frisco burger and an unsweet tea from Steak and Shake. Yum!

Stay safe doggio! I hope that the starter doesn’t cost too much to replace.

I got the cart put together. It wasn’t hard after I got the base tray on. I decided not to use the side hooks and hanging storage pieces, so it resembles the less expensive model somewhat, but with bigger trays and a pegboard on one end.

Now, I’m enjoying a G&T and watching a biography about Ben Franklin. Such excitement! :stuck_out_tongue:

Mrs. L.A. says I can drink. She’s seen it. But in reality, it’s situational. If I’m out with friends, then yeah; I can consume prodigiously. But hanging out at the house? Not so much. Three rums, and I’m definitely feeling it. The hell of it is, it makes me want to go for a drive. This is not acceptable. (Anyway, I’d have to move her car out of the way. :stuck_out_tongue: ) I’m done drinking for the night, so I’ll just coast into the land of Nod an an hour or two.

I’m sorry to hear about your friend Swampy.

I’m considering a beer. I might also just go to bed. I live a wild life.

Winders are open; there are TWO sentries outside. I hear lots of "Whooo"s but not so many "goes there"s… & they stutter, too so it’s more like “Wh-wh-who-who”

My right bottom wisdom tooth is an ASS, and yes I know that’s both anatomically and zoologically incorrect. Stupid thing can’t make up its mind whether to be in or out.

Sounds like it needs to be evicted.
