* * * ! Official 2016 US Presidential Election Day Thread ! * * *

In Virginia, Surrey, Fairfax and Prince William, all democrat areas, are barely counted.

No. Don’t forget, Romney was ahead early in the evening last time. Wait for New York and California.

Apropos of nothing, Firefox has abbreviated the title of this thread to “***! Off” in my tab bar, which nicely encapsulates how this Canadian has felt watching this campaign from afar.

Looking at Ohio, the Clinton lead might actually hold up.

True, but the Panhandle’s not quite complete and Trump had a surge in Brevard Co. I think he’s also doing better in Volusia Co as well. Clinton could win FL but it’s going to be very close. It might also be closer in Virginia as well. I think Trump is using the white middle class against Clinton.

For some liberal definition of “anytime” perhaps. A lot of the vote out is in Democratic strongholds. It will be a while until any are sure enough to call it.

Mississippi goes to Trump because it is easier to spell

Nobody cares about NY and CA – it’s the battleground states.

Everything I’ve seen was positive NH would go for Trump, but HRC is 10% ahead!

CNN have two female newscasters on screen here, and neither is blonde? Well, one has blonde highlights.

We’ve assumed that massive voter turnout would be good for HRC. But it looks like Trump is getting his voters out as well.

Yeah, Cuyahoga, Franklin, and Hamilton are not nearly in. Obama got a million votes in those three counties in 2012.

With all the punditry and prognostication on the political sites, I am feeling no confidence there are enough outstanding votes to swing FL and VA back to Hillary.

Some of what I’m reading here is exactly why Trump supporters will scream about rigging if he loses.

If Clinton wins Ohio, it’s impossible to imagine how she’d lose WI, MI, PA and so I assume she’d win the race.

Still, I’m totally scared. I hate this!!! I want her to win Florida or/and Ohio and to know it is over and he’s finished.

Is the turnout really “massive”? How does it compare with 2012, for example?

Of course. Hate, anger and fear have always motivated more people than hope and apathy.

Ugh … Florida - so divided…

In 2012, there were about 3.7 million voters in VA. About 2.2 million have come in so far in 2016 (in the map I’m following).
