Today I listened to Dan Carlin “Common Sense” podcast. The “Or Else” one. He argued that sometimes when politics as usual is basically in a state of gridlock and voting isn’t really fixing anything, that things can occasionally be improved by throwing everything off a cliff and letting the worst happen, so that a purge/soul-searching can begin. I hope he’s right.
Ron Johnson has been called the winner in WI, and Toomey has just moved ahead of McGinty in PA. Amazing night for the GOP in the Senate.
Unfortunately, a necessary conditions for exit polls to be accurate is if those who agree to answer them are a representative sample. I worry that we might have been in a situation where the Trump voters were angrier and more likely to blow the exit pollers off.
Of course, that people were dishonest with the exit pollers is another possibility, but I am going with the first guess.
This is exactly what Michael Moore predicted months ago. The rust belt states were never going to go for Clinton, the ultimate insider who never made any attempt to reach out to them. It’s gonna be an interesting four years.
And it looks like Trump will have a majority in the senate as well.
Damn you Ray!
This election is a backlash to liberal intolerance. This is what you get when you support a cheater like Clinton.
see this is why all the predicating sites keep giving percentages. It wasn’t that long ago that Clinton was up like at 80%+ and those sites can claim they were right and we just hit the 20%
WA will go Hillary. It’s only 11% reporting now and probably all in the Eastern part of the state. Now if Seattle went Trump, you’d be fucked.
FWIW, My wife, non citizen so she can’t vote but believes a Trump presidency will help China take over the world, even she had to switch from Fox from being too biased.
Thanks, Addie.
My local station is projecting a win for legalized marijuana in CA. Perhaps we’re going to need it!!
Bears repeating.
Trump’s lead in Michigan has now shrunk to 0.5% with only 57% of the vote turned in.
2000 Florida
2016 Michigan
How 'bout this? What if Clinton wins Michigan and NH but loses Wisconsin? That’s 269 to 269 (if Hill gets NV). So it goes to the House and Donnie wins, right?
But wait… apparently Clinton has a shot and winning the Omaha part of Nebraska… which would give her 270-268 for the win.
Strange days.
Supreme court too! The living will envy the dead!
Has anybody seen anything about Maine? CNN has been showing it yellow for hours, but I’ve not seen a vote tally.
Look at you being the voice of reason. She is almost caught up in Michigan and holding steady in PA, it is NOT over.
The Western states were never in question and are part of the modeled statistics for projecting the winner. You think the NY Times was unaware that the Left Coast was a lock for Mrs. Clinton?
How many recounts are we looking at? This could drag on for some time…
I guess we know where those missing white voters have been. Surprising that they never came out against Obama.
