It’s not over until one party concedes. Let’s hope that the dems are already looking for every single possibility for investigation of voter intimidation or irregularities that can be challenged in court or might call for a recount. If the situation was reversed thats exactly what would be happening. There is simply too much at stake for not fighting as long as possible.

In a small bit of good news, Joe Arpaio has lost his reelection bid.
‘Protectionist’ is still a term people don’t like, left or right, but basically what populists on both sides favor. Like I said, the Bernie left is often outright anti-capitalist. The Trump right isn’t (though not nearly as pro-capitalist as more traditional Reagan/Ryan type GOP’ers). IOW they have a different ideal of the basic order of society and economy as it might be reflected in their ideal trade agreement. But they basically agree, left and rightist populists, on being against free trade deals as they’ve been known. The simple way to indicate the opposite of free trade is protectionism.
