Actually it’s only been almost forever. The White Sox won the World Series (over the Cubs!) in 1906.
Yikes! If there ever is a Cubbies-Chisox World Series, Chicago will be blown off the map!
I am a Sox fan and I have pulled for the Cubs to win a World Series. Beyond that I actually believe it is possible in the next ten years. As for the White Sox, does anyone really care? I don’t think I have ever heard anyone bemoaning the cursed fate of the White Sox, nor do I see management making any moves in the direction of fielding a really competitive team. Perhaps someone in Chicago can give me some perspective.
Oops, when I say I am a Sox fan I should specify Red Sox, although that may be obvious from reading my posts over the past few weeks.
the “no series for you” curse was levied after 1919.
