OH-12 Special Election 8/7

Particularly since

With 99 percent of precincts reporting ( As of this afternoon ) , Balderson has 50.1 percent of the vote to O’Connor’s 49.3 percent.

Trump tweet for the night, which is some spin and some truth:

“Some truth”, indeed. Trump is, in fact, President. Sorta, kinda.

Not at the time I posted that.

The Green Party candidate is even odder than I thought. I’m not sure what ICE and Trump’s policy is on aliens from other planets, but Joe Manchik claims that some of his relatives are:

My distant relatives originally came to planet Earth from a planet orbiting a star in the Pleiades star cluster located in the constellation of Taurus.

And, of course, he has the silly Facebook privacy notice which has been debunked numerous times.

“Look, when I said I was against illegal aliens, THIS IS NOT WHAT I MEANT!”

Regards,
Shodan

Well, what’s wrong with what he said? The Pleiades are, in fact, in Taurus.

An amateur astronomer I once met cast doubt on New Age claims of Pleiadean visitors to Earth, because the stars of the Pleiades are too young and too hotfor life to have formed there. Also too close together?: I don’t know enough about astrophysics to evaluate this, but it seems to me the level of radiation within the cluster must be too lethal for anything to live there.

Sounds like bull to me.
I rather doubt OH-12 will come out for the Dems in the special election. Are these same 2 guys going to square off again in November?

Yeah, there just aren’t enough votes left. I think I read that only around 5-10% of unreturned absentee ballots show up, so together with the ~80% of provisional ballots that are usually valid, the 8,000 will dwindle to around 3,000 and O’Connor would need something like 75% of that.

Yes, the same candidates. It’s not like that district in Michigan that just nominated different Democrats for the special and general elections (which will occur on the same day in November).

My distant relatives drove around planet Earth in a used Ford Taurus.

Quick quiz:
(1) Do you even know why Democrats were delighted to do this well in Ohio-12?
(2) Do you still think stats from the 2008 election give the best look at the 2016 election?
(3) Did I miss your comment on the following? :–
Silver lining: “www.thegatewaypundit. …”
Wikipedia: “The website [The Gateway Pundit] is known for publishing falsehoods and spreading hoaxes.”
We’re discussing some of these matters in another thread.

And a Subaru too, probably.

(That’s the Japanese name for the Pleiades).

The guy ran poorly and made a major gaffe about Franklin county. The news to me is many Trump voters did not come out, yet he still won.

It’s not news to any of us who are paying attention that you interpret absolutely every single political event in the most positive light possible for Trump. The Trump campaign and GOP apparatus thanks you for your efforts in helping to spin a <1 pt win in a R+12 district as positive for them.

Ok I am unfamiliar with this, please educate me about this major gaffe. I would love to know what a Trump supporter considers to be a major gaffe. And I would love to compare this major gaffe with Trump’s campaigning history, and his apparent lack of major gaffes. You know, just for the comparison and informational/educational potential. It’s for science.

Major gaffe for anyone but Donald: saying it’s Tuesday when it’s really Wednesday.

Major gaffe for Donald: Starting WW III because of a mean tweet. Anything less than that is just fine.

I can’t help but note that this doesn’t answer any of the three questions in the post you were responding to. Is there a reason you aren’t answering them?
