Oh Arnold Dear! Remember that new smiley poll?

Oh I don’t know how long ago it was but I remember you said you would start a new poll for a new smiley…and…??

I just thought I’d try asking again and see what happens

And then personal life caught up with me. Next week I may be able to get to it.

Personal life? PERSONAL LIFE? Who do you think you are, having a PERSONAL LIFE?!?!?! None of us have one - you shouldn’t either! Now give us more smilies!

Take all the time you need Arnold. I hope things are going okay in your personal life.

Happy Thanksgiving too

Yeah… take your time.

Could you offer a libertarian smilie?

It could be miniature animated Statue of Liberty, with perhaps multi-colored lens flares coming from the torch, and a tiny reproduction of Emma Lazarus’s poem underneath. If possible, it would be nice to have a text balloon with the words “Peaceful honest people ought to be free to pursue their own happiness in their own way,” similar to the balloon on the Wally smilie.

It would be handy to use, say, when someone advocates involuntary home inspections, or when someone writes mysoginistic screeds about women having not rights. That sort of thing.

Or it could be used as a “smackie” when posters try to usurp our national icons for their own political ends.

:smack:

Gah, you’re right. We should have selected a jackass.

I liked the one suggestion called ‘wry’, it was something like :Z.

:Z That was mine!

How interesting.

I’ve always been partial to the look of resignation:
:-\

As in, that’s just the way it is :-\

NardoPolo, that’s the only smiley I ever use in IM conversations, except mine goes the other way. =/

Yeah, but I was never sure how to give that smiley a furrowed brow.

How about this one for “You make me throw up.”

:Q~~~

quote from Libertarian:

Hey! but writing mysoginistic screeds about women having no rights may be how I find my happiness…[/hijack]

Or, a little frowning smiliey, holding up a sign that reads: “I lost the election, but I don’t care, 'cause winning my in-party feuds are more important”.

I thought that emoticon was supposed to register one’s skepticism at a statement.

I’m particularly fond of our beer drinking smilies over at G’Dope.
