I too wondered why it was closed. The thread title wasn’t too ambiguous (hey, I’ve seen lots worse than that) and it could’ve generated quite a fun Home Depot pile-on (or praise thread, whatever).
Yeah, closing that was bizarre. I could see posting something asking the OP to come back and elaborate a bit more, or even a slight admonishment like, “[OP], this may be MPSIMS, but you need to put enough effort into your post so people know what you’re talking about.”
But it seems dumb to close the thread. It’s a slightly confusing but obviously lighthearted thread in a forum for lighthearted stuff.

Hmmm…on the one hand, I look at it again now and I get the joke that went over my head the first time (and, clearly, over the heads of those who reported the thread). Yes, there most definitely are “too mundane and pointless for MPSIMS” threads (hell, I’ve started plenty of them), but this probably doesn’t qualify.
On the other hand, reopening the thread would I was wrong initially. Plus, I’d be capitulating to the whims of the Teeming Millions and caving the first time I was called out in ATMB, which would mean all the other mods would totally make fun of me at our next sooper-secret world-domination get-together. I don’t know if my fragile psyche could handle that.
