Oh Fox News, You Silly, Silly, Silly Network

Is this another example of that famous left-wing media slant that I hear so much about?

Not as such…

That’s because the people in charge of sacking the graphics people have been sacked.

Ah, shit, no, man, those people were great! Remember their Iraq War graphic, with the eagle plunging from the sky with talons glistening with vengeance and frickin’ *laser *beams on the wings, damn, now that was some graphics! So many lies contained in a single unforgettable image!

Well, it’s okay, because every single other newspaper and major TV network in the country is liberally biased, so there needs to be SOME balance, right?

How’s about the last quote in that montage as well?

I don’t know who that was and what context he said that in, obviously, but couldn’t it go either way depending on what the preceding or next sentence was? If the speaker followed that up with, “The fact that the middle class are getting laid off is greater numbers really puts the screws to the economy.”

I don’t see how they can present that one sentence out-of-context as representative of positive spin on the economy. It doesn’t say that at all. It doesn’t really say anything. Of course, it’s not as glaringly disingenuous as actual lying, but it is really indicative of the fact that Fox News obviously thinks its audience are a bunch of fuckwits.

Bingo. It won’t matter though, the damage has been done and the Fox News viewers already have it in their “brain.”

That’s it exactly. Somebody there had to know, even if it wasn’t the “journalist” who presented it. There’s no credible way for them to just say, “Oopsie!” because Biden’s words on both sides of the sound bite were clearly referencing McCain. Whoever did the cutting knew it. If Media Matters and ThinkProgress hadn’t exposed it, we would never have heard that rather lame apology.

Such as it is.
Bolding mine.

The funny thing here (to me) is that my dad is using this as an example of why Fox is such a great network…because they are willing to retract something and fess up when they are wrong.

He loves them (it’s on pretty much continuously at his house whenever we come over for a visit). Love my dad but that makes it difficult to go over for a visit…

Eh? Oh, that happened a long time ago. Y’ever notice how when Fox has no choice but to cover a Pub caught in a scandal, the crawl or caption often ID’s that pol as a Dem?
