Just habit. She’s got 26 cats and has become so used to talking to them in baby talk that it carries over to the real world.

Not to sidetrack the ongoing discussion of your co-worker’s hotness but Eve has apparently left us again. Last month she wrote she found some posts offensive and some people responded negatively.
One response was “Though you really should add something about also not posting to message boards until you get the stick surgically removed from your ass.”
To which Eve responded, “You are right, though, posting to message boards is a bad idea for me, and I think it is a habit I should stop. There are plenty of good books to be read (and written) without looking for trouble on places like this.”
She hasn’t posted since that day.

And the cats can’t stand it either.
I’m middle-aged (coming up on 43) and will confess to a certain amount of baby talk to babies/small children or pets, but not to other adults.
I’ve noticed cats do tend to do the feline version of an eye-roll when baby-talked. 
Oh, nooooooooooooo.
We have an princess in another department who occasionally calls me. Honestly, she talks like she has a mouth full of spittle. When she calls, I can honestly not understand a word she’s saying, and god help me if she leaves a message that includes a phone #.
That’s a real bummer. Eve is a classic member who is widely loved. It is sad to see her go over something so trivial. She will be welcome backed heartily when next she decides to return and waste time here.
If I had anything negative to say at all, I would say I take slight umbrage at her use of the term, ‘places like this.’ This place is one of the good-uns, afaiac. In any case, I predict she’ll be back within two years.
We’d put up with Hitler if he was a hot female.
She said that 95% of the people here supported her but she just got tired of dealing with the other 5%.
I should also point out that I’m just getting this from her posts. I’m not putting myself forward as her representative.

Second. And I absolutely want notice when her book comes out! Eve, if you’re reading this . . .
I’m really bummed out about Eve. You know, if you get along with 95% of people, that’s a pretty darned good average. You just learn to ignore the 5%.

Well, yes and no.
IMO many males WILL for awhile so they can get the chance to “tap the hotness” so to speak for a bit. But you also see plenty of guys leaving the hotness after awhile basically because of some variation of “I can’t take that crazy bitch anymore no matter how hot/good a lay she is”.
Hotness will buy you some time but it ain’t a permanent get out of jail card for many guys.
