The heck with why it’s there, it’s peanut butter. Bring a spoon and a gallon of milk and you’re set for life (or a day, whichever comes first)
Acsenray’s got it so good their employer actually has something called pantry staff.
And bacon. You forgot bacon.
Well, if you’re so sure why the decision wasn’t made, how about finding the official reasons why and sharing with us? Track down the appropriate countersigning memo. The Dopers wanna know! ![]()
And enjoy your fresh peanutty butter.
I know! I bet they even got one of those awesome pellet icemakers.
Some people tend to be kind of picky about their bread so maybe it was decided that you can supply your own bread, rather than have a lot go to waste while the pantry staff figures out what everyone likes.
This is one of the strangest things I’ve heard lately.
But you said they do provide fruit, so put it on apple slices.
Not only that, I hear the lucky bastard has access to “all you can use” toilet paper in the bathroom!
-
Yes, it’s weird that they installed a peanut butter maker.
-
Hey, they supplied the peanuts. Free fresh-ground peanut butter! What’s not to like?
-
Hell yeah, I’ll bring in my own bread. And jam, whether they provide that or not, because I’ve got a stash of homemade. Or I’d just grab a container to grind the PB into, then grab a spoon and eat it straight, or dip apple slices into it as Blackberry suggests.
-
I’m gonna complain about this? Be perplexed, maybe, but definitely not complain.
Then why did you bring up complaining?
Yep, peanut butter on apple or banana - food of the Gods. Especially fresh peanut butter. Still, that’s an odd appliance to put in a office.
Aha! Acsenray works at Sonic’s!
Generally, when working at fast food places, Acsenray, one refers to the “pantry staff” as “co-workers.” ![]()
I beg pardon for the breach of etiquette. I’m going down now to check the shapes of the ice cubes.
Are any employees or clients under 12 years old? Peanut butter and fruit is what is served at daycare.
Suggest they provide vodka and Xanax for the adults who work there.
Okay, two mysteries apparently solved:
-
The ice is in mini-cube form, not pellet form.
-
There are Nabisco saltines underneath the peanut butter machine.
- The peanut butter needs salt
You need to bring in jars.
Now I want peanut butter.
I’m imagining Homer Simpson with his mouth under the peanut-butter machine nozzle. “Mmmmmmm…peanut butter.”
That’s what the saltines are for!
