Yeah Yeah… so I’m not coherent at 1:46am while all hooked up to the milking machine!
To clarify… the munchkin girl is far too curious about the munchkin boy to be jealous right now. I know this won’t last but hey… I’ll take what I can get.
She was really put off by the various hospitals and she did not like the wires and tubes and stuff the doctors had in/on both he and I while we were there. Now that we’re all on her turf things are going surprisingly well.
I can say that getting up every 3 hours for munchkin duty is exhausting!
She’s 29 months… She’s a wonderful little girl but she’s very young so I do expect some kind of backlash from her once she’s heard ‘Sorry honey I have to feed the baby’ one too many times.
You might be surprised. My oldest was just a couple months shy of 3 when I had the middle one. And he did great (so long as I was making him my helper… letting him fetch and tote and such). The middle one was 16 mos (yikes!) when I had the youngest, and he was fairly good with everything. But I think that had a lot to do with him not fully understanding and also having a bigger brother to distract him. Hope it goes well for you.
Oh Tanookie, that is wonderful news!!! How is nursing going now that he’s home? It must be A LOT easier to be relaxed and all.
What I found with the kids (but I have big age gaps between mine, so it’s a different situation), is that before baby was mobile, things were ok. It was after the independent mobility started (he’s touching my stuff!) that things got a little tense. Now that Jake is into absolutely everything, the girls get frustrated with him more, but, thank God, they’re both overall extremely good big sisters and love him to pieces.
I’m sure you guys will work it out just fine. It’s certainly an adjustment, though and tiring to say the least!
We’ve been trying to let her help whenever possible. She loves taking her bear and treating him like we treat the baby. Right now she’s out with daddy shopping and I’m waiting for the visiting nurse to come visit.
We’re all pretty tired and it will be nice to not have a daily hospital trip anymore!
that’s about the same age and gender split as my kids, tanookie. surprisingly, Girl took very well to Boy, and he’s now 3, and completely in love with her. and being 6 and a half, Girl doesn’t mind being adored. at all.

Oh, dear God! if6, I was up way, way to freakin’ early this morning. And there was no hope of falling back to sleep and now I’m so sleepy! Not fair I tell ya, not fair at all.
You know you people need to be much busier. Really. Like me, for instance. I’ve got no kids this morning so I have been extremely productive. I have answered emails. I have perused the boards. I have read other emails. I have posted on the boards. I have slept for an hour. And I’ve made coffee. And oh yes, I’m working on World Peace. Or Domination. Am having trouble deciding whish one now.
Maybe I should sleep on it.
See? It’s not that hard to a productive member of society here.
