OK… first off, this is not a real pitting by me, I just was not sure where else to put it.
I am actually entertained by reading all of the sex related threads you start, but, it seems to me to be at least the vast majority of threads you have started lately.
You seem to have a one track mind. Not that there is anything wrong with that.
Anyone else notice this??

I did see one thread here started by Dave that was not sex related. Maybe there are others lurking around here somewhere.

Because sex is, in fact, the point. And all the other things we do; playing the trombone, sweeping the carpet, posting to the SDMB, are just stuff we pass the time with till we can have sex again.
So if we bring it a little closer to the actual goal- sweeping the carpet naked, posting to sex related threads- well, all the better.
More power to him.
So it looks like we are seeking to evaluate the postings of Davebear to determine whether he merits the title of One-Trick Pony (OTP). In a rapid glance at Davebear’s last 50 posts, I found 19 that I would consider to not be directly related to sex, romance or relationships. (IMO – your evaluation criteria may, and probably do, vary.) This would make Davebear 62% OTP pure. Some well known OTPs, such as Uekte and Jack Dean Tyler, have much higher OTP purity – IMO, 100% for Uekte and 90% for JDT, based on last 25/50 posts. While Davebear has a fairly high percentage of posts on one topic, I don’t think it’s really enough to consider one to have a one-track mind.
Alternately, we could just throw him to the SDMB One-Trick-Pony Chowder and Marching Society and see how he fares.

Well, don’t forget that there has been a commitment to raising the tone of the boards, complete with additional discussions at the time and later. Sex threads are more likely to lower the tone of the boards than are needlework threads.
It appears that Davebear posts on a variety of topics anyway, so the idea of sex threads lowering the tone of the boards is rather a moot point, no?

Although the title could be misconstrued, DaveBear’s recent Ferret Frolic thread was most certianly not about sex.
Well, only if sex is defined in advance as a lowered tone. Why would that be? I appreciate this board for its rare openness about sex. It’s one of the things I value highly here. Frankly, I think prudery and silence are lowered tones…

Well, unless you make a point of reading every thread on the boards, the fatc that you’ve noticced a high percentage of sex-related threads could just mean you are reading those threads disproportionately often…

This is one of the many, many reasons I like Davebear.
