Wyatt I USED to have lots of fun on Halloween. A memorable trick from several years back was to keep the chain saw (with blade removed) on the porch. When I saw a group of kids that were obviously to old coming up the driveway I’d step out onto the porch and fire that sucker up. If they had the nerve to come up on the porch I’d give them full sized candy bars… Gotta reward the bold right?

I have to say, this year’s costume is turning out to be the best costume EVER!!! I was at a party on saturday night, dressed as a fuzzy wuzzy sheep, and boy oh boy, was that ever a fantastic attention getting device! Mr. Dude also went as a fuzzy wuzzy sheep, and he got tons of attention as well.
Of course, we may go to San Francisco for Halloween… I wonder who will get more attention that night, as the best party is in the Castro District.

Already happened, two weeks ago. It’s usually the weekend before Halloween, but now that its in the Cow Palace (which kinda took most of the charm out of it) they had to have it earlier … cause the rodeo is there last weekend and this week.
I usually go, but skipped this year.

It’s been extraordinarily hectic lately between job, kids and my private life. Plus, it looks like about 20% of our revenue just upped and left, so I may be required to do a lot of travelling in the near future. I’d be ecstatic if it were, say, Hawaii. Unfortunately, it will probably be…well…um…Ohio. Ah, well. Job security.
Anyway. It means I won’t be able to be around here so very much. Sorry. I’ll miss you all terribly, but I’ll try and keep up via email.

We’re a “halloween neighborhood” which is to say, our housing development is small, well lit, and kid friendly and several of the neighbors have traditionally decorated. (just like video rights, I kinda have the claim on the sound effects for the street)
I think we get van loads of kids from apt. complexes and other less attractive neighborhoods … so I typically see about 150-180 kids.
Not as bad as a friend of mine, who lives in an area called Alameda. (an island next to Oakland) Alameda somehow got the reputation as trick-or-treat capitol for the Oalkand Area (lots of apts. in Oakland) … and she usually sees between 400 and 600 kids before 7:45 when she ‘shuts down’! Yikes!!! She says she doesn’t even close the door, she just leaves it open and sits in the doorway with the bowl of candy in her lap and hands stuff out in a near steady stream! Too much!
Yikes! Wow, yeah, I could count the number of times our doorbell got rung last year on one hand, so, 2 pieces is great in your neighborhood! I can’t even wrap my mind around 400-600 kids! :eek:

since I notice noone has thought to ask, yes the anti-spell spell did work out quite nicely, thank you … but … oh… I shouda been on survivor for having to drink that well aged and greened hot-and-sour-soup plus the other stuff that went in it!!! gaaaak I hope noone EvEr turns me into a zombie again! Ever! Worst potion Ever! I woulda waited another week, just to save on costuming … but I’m thinking that, even with freshly shaved legs (given that the legs are so much Easier to shave when they detatch …), a Bearded Zombie, Shriley Temple wouldn’t have gone over any better then the hairy legged one!
