Oh hey, forgive me for the hijack here, but having read this thread and recently watching MTV´s dismissed, I´ve got a question on my mind now: Is it accepted “custom” to kiss on the first date?
I sure get the impression watching said show and maybe that would explain why I never get a second date as I am always too shy and reserved to go ahead and kiss the woman…
NOt that I am an expert [shut up Dave! ] but IMHO I think it depends on the date. I think you should sort of go with the chemestry. Sometimes you shoudl and sometimes you should maybe keep it to a g’night peck or something…depends on teh relationship too. Is it a work related relationship? ( no kiss) Or a .com hook up {maybe} or did you meet in a hot tub on a singles cruise {probably} … JMHO

Now a days it seems if people haven’t hopped into bed by the third date then the relationship is doomed.

I don’t think that is true Tanookie. I catch a lot of shit b/c I don’t hop into bed by the 3rd date either and I definitely don’t consider myself and old fogie far, far from it.
my word, interesting things have been happening since last I visited. Tanookie, nothing wrong with being “old fashioned,” not when there’s stuff out there that’ll kill you. But try telling that to people who are basically hormones with feet. Me included, thinking back on my none-too-perfect past.

I’m fine, thanks. A smile is always welcome. I’m back at work today, and dealing with all the fun stuff here is keeping my mind and hands busy, thank goodness.
Where’s Wyatt & Dave today? It’s 3 there, noon here…well, Wyatt keeps bartender hours, so he’s probably just getting up.
I saw a post in another thread from Wyatt this morning but nothing from Dave. Otherwise haven’t heard. Maybe later though. They usually check in later.
I am the same whenever I’m blue, I try to keep busy. Checking in with this board is usually good for AT LEAST 1.7 smiles and a giggle or two!

A radler, Rocky, is a tasty German beverage comprised of beer (white wheat beer, I think) and lemonade. It’s not as heavy when it’s ickily hot and humid, more refreshing.
I guess I don’t know what you mean by a literal language. Alls I can tell ya is that bitte can mean both please and you’re welcome, where wilkommen means howdy, come on in. But anyhow, I knew what you meant, which is why I smiled in the first place. Bummer about Monica btw, but hey, at least you found out early.

“Hormones with feet” … LOL … I always thought of it as “life support system for a set of reproductive organs” myself!
I, myself, am VERY puzzled by the ‘standards’ of “first kiss” timing as well as “first bed” timing! But the highly regarded sociological study that was “Fraiser” did put forth the concept that the third date WAS the appropriate turning point.
I myself stated, why, earlier in this very thread, that I dated one lovely lady for months and months, only to later find out through a mutual friend that the lady in question was confused as to whether my intentions were: ‘dating’ or ‘just being friends.’ From which I’ve concluded she was looking for a directed move toward the bedroom, while I thought I was “being a gentleman.”

Well Wyatt, I’m BOTH a nice girl and a bad girl. I can be very naughty but you have to wait to see it. I believe in waiting to let the sexual tension build between a couple. It makes the sex better. Some people don’t understand or appreciate that.
mmmm … that sounds tasty, White Ink. I rilly like the white wheat beers … hefeweizen, I think they’re called, right? Had one in Heidelberg a couple of years ago and fell in love with it. Thank God we have a local microbrewery that makes a “Heidelberg Hefeweizen” that tastes exactly like I remember, though if the brew isn’t fresh it tends to get sour fast. I’ll have to try it with lemonade sometime. What’s the ratio?

I think hefewiezen is half wheat…not that I know what the other half is…I don’t really remember what the other half is…never cared much it just tastes good to me.

BTW, anyone else notice that Davebear has been strangely silent this week (give or take a post here and there)? I guess he’s just been so overwhelmed with Match responses and dessert that he hasn’t had time.
