Correction, those things WERE part of Christianity. They are no longer part of any mainstream Christian denomination. The Lord’s Resistance Army is ostensibly based on some strained relationship with the ten commandments, but in reality is simply a cult of personality surrounding its founder.

I worked a job in the US economy, linked to a global economy. I paid for a place to live (to a large bank) and stuff to eat, wear and use (mostly to large corporations, but independent handymen and Mom&Pops too). I maintained a lawn.

No, really, until/unless there’s an actual authority who effectively everybody in the world accepts as the undisputed arbiter of which groups are or are not Christian, self-identification is how we will have to judge.
Otherwise, you’ll just get into the slippery slope of “well, of course the <insert Church here> is not Christian” because of “whatever BS I happen to think”. And that may include Mormons. Or Protestants in general. Or any other group, major or marginal, just because somebody thinks “well, they don’t believe this critical thing, so they can’t be Christian”.
Likewise however the OP defines “far left”. If they’re the only arbiter of that, that’s BS. Self-identified “far leftists” who do not fit that mold get to have a say about that.

They may be ridiculous caricatures, and there may be some level of irony here that escapes me, but on the surface, these people seem entirely serious posting things like “Stalin was the greatest hero in human history”. Lots of calls for the Israeli Jewish population to be “sent back to Europe”, too. (and to be clear, that search term will lead to LOTS of similar pages)
I completely agree. As a center leftist, I have issues with both the far left and the center right. But ideally we’d all be able to come together as far leftists, center leftists, centrists and center rights to stop the far right fascists from destroying the country.
I was very frustrated when I made this thread last night. I’m much calmer now that I’ve vented and broken things off with the group I was interacting with.

AOC spoke out against anti-semitism recently. Some people on the far left were holding anti-semitic protests in NYC. AOC spoke out against antisemitism and said it has no place in left wing politics. Now I’ve met several far leftists who think AOC is a sellout too.
So now the DSA, AOC and Bernie Sanders are all sellouts to some on the far left.

Um, the idea that unbelievers should be persecuted or killed and Christianity spread by the sword is quite powerful in the US at least. It’s the “social justice” parts of Christianity that get marginalized.

Gender is how you identify.
Sexual orientation is what you’re attracted to.

Demisexual means you’re only attracted to people you have an emotional connection with
Sapiosexual means you’re attracted to someone intelligent.
Pansexuals are bisexual, but not all bisexuals are pansexual.

Everything in your post makes sense except for demisexual. I would suggest emotisexual, but people would think that means attracted to emoticons. Can’t say emosexual because that would imply only being attracted to heavy eyeliner and self-loathing. Fall-in-love-sexual is too long. Well, whatever, someone needs to get a better name because demisexual is goofy. Damn kids.

Unless the person in question has explicitly asked to be referred to in a particular manner then they have no grounds to complain. There is no way anyone can know how someone else identifies unless they are told.
I’ve never seen someone get bent out of shape over this to random people. Not saying such people are not out there but I think they are pretty rare and certainly not something to paint an entire group with.
