Oh, my shattered illusions...music help

Somewhere in “the great move of 1994” we managed to lose a couple of our albums (well, more than a couple, but the others are even more obscure).

Both were “gay” albums. One contained a song called (from memory) “Shattered Illusions” :

but the thing that caused the final rift
was when his toupee started to shift
and I saw his heels had three inch lifts
oh, my shattered illusions

The other album, if IIRC, was an all female group who performed among other songs one called “Young and Upwardly Mobile” :

He drives a BMW and I drive a Chevrolet
we’re young and upwardly mobile

and none of us leave 'til well past one
'cos none of us have kids to spoil our fun
we’re young and we’re upwardly mobile

Can anyone help me out with the artists and the albums, I really miss them. :frowning:

Bugger, I just realised that the way I used “gay” in the OP might be misconstrued. IIRC, performers on both albums were openly gay, and the music was not well known outside of the gay culture in which I hung at the time.

The first is Shattered Illusions.

The second is Yuppies.

Both by Dillie Keane, the second with Adle Anderson.

Thankies, thankies, thankies. It’s been driving me NUTS.
