I can’t say I agree with that. While we are in (hopefully, the end of) a sort of conservative reawakening, the simple fact is that society has incrementally progressed to the left for centuries.
You can see it in everything from universal suffrage to the slow trend towards legitimizing (sorry, couldn’t think of a better word) gay marriage.
You could argue that we’re moving toward an oligarchy, but I don’t think that’s the ideal system of government for most right-wingers, even the crazy ones.

Do you think the people you’re talking about would feel as alienated if a white man was in office as opposed to a black one? Something deep down tells me that the only reason we’re hearing this talk of insurrection has less to do with the repression and outsourcing, and more to do with “their guy” not running things now. Nevermind the fact that “their guy” was in office for the past 8 years and had a lot to do with us being in this mess.
It’s really hard to be sympathetic with people who only now have decided to become angry. Chuck Norris et al should have been talking about revolution back in 2003 when Bush dreamed up his war in Iraq and started taking executive privilege to Nicksonian heights. If he didn’t speak out against Bush’s flagrant abuses of power, then he should just sit down somewhere and shut up with his Johnny Come Lately self.
