Frankly I don’t care about Shayna. And I don’t particularly care about Tuba… she’s shown her hypocrisy many times and it’s no surprise to see it now. I do, however, occasionally feel like pointing it out when I see it. Double standards are always amusing. Oh, speaking of double standards… back when I started the TMHP, it was the SDTMHP, but I was told I couldn’t use “Straight Dope” in the title. Apparently that rule only applies to me, though, because “The People of the Straight Dope” is quite freely allowed to keep “Straight Dope” in its name. Here is another one… a thread called “Sweet Sue - fuck off, you vapid worthless fool” is allowed to stay, dispite the fact that the person could have taken their complaints to email… yet a thread (addressed to a person who keeps their email address secret) which at its most hostile tells someone to take a nap is not only closed, but slated for deletion. Hmmm… makes ya think, donnit?

Well that argument has long been over. There isn’t anything else to say…
Even though I am taking a break I am still reading and will speak out when I see bullshit…and frankly I am about ready to quit both the SDMB and the FFF over this whole shit. To go back to my AOL Colorado Room and enjoy the fucks that are there along with the friends I have known for 5 1/2+ years. But I wont make that rash decision at this time.
Um slythe, great person that knew how to start shit in the FFF, it started here ass wipe. The problem stemmed from something that caught me in the middle on the SDMB. I am more/just as pissed off about this whole situation other than Opal and Shayna, got it?
I could give a shit that you are a moderator over here, I have no respect for you given your past over at the FFF especially given this last comment from you.
I have great respect, for Tuba, Ed, Lynn, UncaBeer, Euty (of course), manny and several other mods/admins on this board. They have been cordial, kind, understanding and even fun outside of the boards when it comes to me regardless of my “position” on the FFF.
But slythe, your blatent discontempt for the FFF has been well known. You sit there and try to state that this should be over “there”, listen here buddy, this started here on the SDMB and that’s where it should stay.
I can’t state that I totally agree with Tuba about her decision to close Opal’s thread. I stated in another thread that I respect the mods and admins over here even if I don’t always agree. Since I am not Tuba, I can not make a judgement on her decision. I was not involved in the issue at hand, thereby leading me to the conclusion that Tuba is doing what she feels she should, regardless of popular opinion even if I think she was wrong…sorry Tuba. I am friends with Shayna and Opal so from my perspective I think a good heart to heart on the boards may have been a good thing. I emailed them both in hopes of getting them to some common denominator, but I gather that will not happen. At least on the SDMB, where this all started, people would get an idea of what the fuck is going on.
But the thing is slythe, you sit back and are doing your damnedest to pit one board over another. Frankly slythe, I find that rude and disgusting.
Look, if you have a beef with Opal, me, or any of the other mods on the FFF, email us. I have already asked you to do that but apparently it’s not getting through your thick skull.
It is time that these two boards realize that we are working together for the same damn thing and slythe, you seem to be more than willing to point out the “us versus them” when it comes to the two boards. I have not seen this attitude from other mods/admins as strongly as I have from you.
God Damnit! All I want is for the two boards and the two people sorts of pages, to work together as one. I care about it all and it only frustrates me. I fucking hate this. I want to cry but I am more pissed than anything at this point.
I love the SDMB, I love the 3FMB…and hopefully my time away from both will give it time to mellow and to have this shit stop because if it continues I will leave both and head back to, heaven forbid, AOL, where at least we can easily dispose of the trolls and dismiss the problems of certain parties in the room.
So slythe, I ask you to please stop pitting the “us vs. them” when it comes to the two boards. Many of us that are mods on the FFF love both places. All you are doing is creating ill feelings where, personally, I feel like saying “fuck it all, fuck the boards, I will go back to worse and nasty to get my fix no matter how horrible it is.”

Small note to Satan and Techchick, though: I thought I had backed off and apologized about caring whether a certain troll was shitting all over the 3F Board. I’ve kept my word and haven’t said word one about it, on any board. If my apology and silence wasn’t enough, you should have said something.

slythe, the thing is, you never considered the fact that this was brought about on the SDMB. You assumed that it could be hashed out on the 3FMB. This combined with your past made me suspicious of your posts.
The SD People Pages are open to everyone, the TMHP are also open to everyone. All that I am trying to do here is to make the two work together to make it the great community that it should be.

Every once in a while a thread like this serves to remind me to not get overly emotionally involved in this message board. I actually would like to, don’t get me wrong. That’s the problem. If I did, then situations such as this where two people I respect and who have both done much to make this board the place it is would really divide me.
I do worry that because many of the posters here are very much emotionally involved with this board (and certainly who can blame them), disagreements such as this can lead to major board disruption and hurt feelings all around. Needless to say, this cannot be a healthy thing for our community. So, in the interest of still being able to maintain my respect for two posters who have earned it, I must remain slightly aloof from all of this.
I hate to support this viewpoint, but sometimes I have to agree that “it’s just a message board.” I wish that we could transcend that, but this board’s propensity for becoming engulfed in bitterness and hostility on a periodic basis acts as an anchor dragging us below the high potential we as a community have. The saddest part of it is that none of it couldn’t be prevented with a bit more thought and consideration for others.
You assume a lot about my past,techchick68. Have I EVER posted anything that indicated I didn’t care about the 3F Board? Have I EVER posted anything disparaging the 3F Board on this board?
Would I have bothered with the troll debate if I didn’t give a shit about the 3F Board? For the record, between me and the troll, which one of us has kept our word about behaving? I may have been a little vibrant sometimes, but I NEVER tried to tear the board down.
