Yup, I noticed. I apologize if I gave the impression that I don’t think you have a reasonable beef. I was speaking in reference to the “double standard” that you pointed out… hey, it’s going to happen, and you can’t let it bog you down when it does.
Of course, given the shit that HAS happened (or is still happening), I would hope that Tubadiva shows up to provide a better perspective on her side of all this. I mean, she doesn’t HAVE to, of course, but it’d be for the best, I should think.

slythe, I will apologize to you for my harshness. Obviously I am on edge so I am working with what I have in my last few moments of posting for a while, to be snotty.
I don’t mean to be snotty but your post kinda of pissed me off after other things that where said in this thread and other threads as well.
Like I said, all I want is for the SDMB, the 3FMB, the TMHP and the SD People Pages to get along, addition, like silk.
This is why I will be taking a break…from this moment on until I am able to contain my irritation in a civil manner, not that what I said wasn’t civil.
Anyhow…I apologize and will retract what I said for the most part. All I ask is that everyone do their fucking damnedest to get along.

I’m just amazed at how people are using up vast amounts of emotional bandwith by having furious anger towards a message board administrator.
I can’t and won’t speak for Tuba as to her motivations for closing that thread. But let’s assume that Tuba did overreact. Big whoop. You’ve been known to overreact once or twice yourself, Opal. So have I. So has just about every consistent poster on this MB. This Message Board is moderated by human beings. If you’re looking for pure consistency and an absence of double-standards then start looking for a MB moderated by cyborgs or something.
This thread has gone far beyond the point of addressing another poster, commenting on the administrative policies of the SDMB, or simply expressing “Shit Happens”. People are accusing SDMB mods of bad mouthing other message boards. Unrelated personal disputes which have scabbed over long ago are being picked at again. People are accusing others of having no class. This whole thread stinks. There is apparently a deep and IMHO far too personal bitterness among at most half a dozen posters here, but its being aired out for all 10,000 SDMB members to see. Most posters here aren’t taking any side on this little spat, they only know that this is One Ugly Muthafuckin Thread.
That alone in my mind is enough reason to close this thread. Not because I have an urge to treat you differently, Opal, not because I feel the need to defend Tuba, not because I have a strong opinion about 3F or the SD People Pages or the TM Homepage, but because it’s just much uglier than it needs to be. It’s just no damn good.
If anyone can think of a way in which any good can be obtained by leaving this thread open, I would love to hear it.
From my own experience, I’d put the odds pretty even between this escalating on the one hand and it providing a place for the arguments to wind towards amicable conclusions on the other. I think it’s pretty apparent that there’s been a fair amount of overreaction, and figure it’s as likely as not that keeping it open will allow those involved to apologize and clarify themselves. Of course, there’s still the risk of it turning into a big stinking mess.
Actually, I agree with Alphagene. This thread is easily the worst thing I have ever read on the SDMB (Bear in mind that I spent the whole day in Great Debates reading what remains of Phaedrus’ postings). Posters who I respect are acting exceptionally catty (no pun intended) and it makes me really, really uncomfortable. Sort of like watching your parents fight when you were a kid.
I agree with some of the other posters here. This thread has gone on far longer than we can expect anything constructive to come out of it.
Everyone has had their say, and I think by now everyone knows where everybody else stands.
I’d appreciate anymore discussion of this being taken to e-mail, and I’d really enjoy it if there were some resolution to all this, that the happy news were posted here as well, just to balance this whole mess out. But I’m not holding my breath.
So, I’m closing this thread, since at this point I don’t think anyone can rightfully say that they weren’t given a chance to speak. But I give the odds at about 95 to 1 that these seas are going to quiet down anytime soon.
Everybody go take a nap, read a book, turn off the friggin’ computer and go outside, go get laid or something. But lets’ all just step away from this for a bit, until maybe we can discuss it without emotions running so high.
