Gooooooooooooooooood Morning, MMPers!!! :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D Happy Saturday!!!
Yup, I’ve been up since about 5:30. I tried to fall back to sleep, but generally when I’m awake, that’s it. So I’ve taken Bernie out for her morning pee and poo, I’ve fed both critters, and now I’m reading what I didn’t have time to read last night. I’m getting tired of painting on the glaze ( I prefer class where we dip it) but I’ve nearly finished a kiln load - I’m hoping to load it tonight.
Last throwing class today. I’ve got 3 pieces from last week to trim, and enough clay left to make some stuff today. Thanksgiving weekend is off, and when we return, we have 2 weeks to glaze and class will be done. And Tina will be out of our lives (sniff sob) and I’ll need to get registered for my new class - yay!
Did I mention I’ve been accepted into the community college?? I’m going to take their series of ceramics classes - not for credit. Unfortunately, the brochure they sent me talks about taking SATs or submitting transcripts. Nothing in it or on the website addresses non-credit students. But I’m pretty sure they don’t need my transcript from Purdue in order for me to take Beginning Ceramics. I’ll call again on Monday.
Incidentally, our big storm seems to have knocked the vast majority of the remaining leaves to the ground. So we’ve got one big round of leaf mulch-vac-dumping to do and that will be that. Till next year. I’m thinking we’ll probably do a little tomorrow.
I need to check my cookbook for the pumpkin pie, peach struesel pie, and buttermilk pie recipes. I know I’m lacking some ingredients - I should stop on the way back from class today. Oh, and I need “real” cool whip. “Not that @#&^$@ in a can” as my sister so elegantly put in on my answering machine. Anyway, that’s my turkey day contribution - pies. By my mom’s last count, there will be 19 of us at dinner, so I think 4 pies is appropriate. Notice none of my pies involve chocolate - can you believe it??
Oh yeah, one more bit of big news - my kid got a job! Yay! She’ll be working at the Orlando Science Center about 20 hours a week, and she is really excited! No more waiting tables! Plus she loves science museums. And she should make some reasonable money since they pay better than minimum. She’s happy. I’m excited for her.
And that’s all the news that’s fit to print for now. I need a shower and I’ve got to gather all my tools for class. And make a shopping list. And probably more stuff… It’s so complicated being ME!!!
