We are goin!
I checked the Blue Jackets website to find out about group tickets/seating and requested some information, and a lady called me this morning to talk about it.
If the weekend of November 2 is definite, the options are:
Friday, November 1 game: No ‘specials’ for this game, but if there are 10 or more people going, we can get group tickets at $3 off. Less than 10 people will have to buy tickets through Ticketmaster as opposed to the Blue Jackets office.
Sunday, November 3 game: Less than 10 people qualify for their ‘Family 4 Pack’ offer, which is groups of 4 tickets for $88, with pop and popcorn and stuff. More than 10 don’t qualify for this offer.
Anybody interested?
Okay, I’m going to book the joint for November 2[sup]nd[/sup] unless anyone can come up with a really really good reason to have it week before.
To make this even more interesting, I might even {gasp} be living there again by then. [sub](don’t ask, it’s a work thing and it isn’t helping my HBP)[/sub]
Arrrrrrrrrgh!
My aparment complex isn’t renting out the clubhouse anymore. They had actually stopped doing that before last years thing, but since I had reserved it so far in advance, they let me slide. I had no idea.
Options: [ul][li]party in my apartment (1,100 sqft- good for a dozen or so people, not much more)[/li][li]someone else step up with a place to party[/li]cancel (not an option, really)[/ul]
Well, we could always do this in public someplace if need be. I guess I won’t be needing the surgical tubing and forceps this year then.

I checked around. There’s a good possibility I could reserve a room at the Ohio Union (at OSU) but it would very likely have to be dry. OTOH, German village isn’t that far away and buses run until 2.
This is so cool! A Dopefest, just down the road from me! Yay! I can’t wait!
But I have no ideas at all for a place. I would volunteer my parents’ huge house about 45 minutes north of Dublin, but that might annoy them.
Wherever we meet, it probably shouldn’t be near OSU. It’s patrolled more frequently by cops, and parking is a total pain in the tuckus. Somewhere in Dublin or north Columbus is our best bet.
Seriously, this is bitchin’. Unless I’m dead or working, I WILL be there.
Count the lurker in as a ‘maybe’, also.
We definitely need someone there named Lixitxachitl. Worth the price of admission.
I’ll probably go…
Anyone in the area a American Legion / VFW member? We might be able to rent a hall…
John
Ooh! Ooh! Another OhDope!
Can I come too? I had to cancel out on last year’s.
I live in the campus area–not the best part of town, but not the worst, either. If anyone needs crash space, please let me know. (Maybe I’m an idiot, but I trust you guys. Besides, I’m a grad student and my main source of income is my TA, so it’s not like there’s anything in my apartment worth stealing. But there is a spare futon, a sleeping bag, and some open square footage. )

C’mon, people. . . are we gonna do this or not?
Jessica–my thoughts exactly.
I’d love to do the OhDope thang.
I can be there I believe.
I plan to be there. Just tell me when and where. And what to wear and what to bring. I need a lot of direction.
Depending on how I’m feeling then, I’m going to give it a shot.
Juniper, just make sure that you book a nice, late flight out this time.
Okay, I’m going to find a place to have this shin-dig and I’ma find it this weekend. Worse comes to worse, it’ll be like a normal DopeFest and we’ll start out at a bar/restaurant then either migrate to the house or head downtown clubbing for after-hours fun.
Hear’s a thought for costumes: pajama party. Awww-yeah.
Cool… does that mean you’re going out drinking tonight?
